If you’ve been farming raids since week one you should have plenty of badges.

I mentioned this on their monthly look at us we banned bots post. They need to address the titanium node spawn rate or the yield of the nodes. Most people are raid loggers and the price of gems will stay high for awhile and then spike back in ICC unless more titanium is introduced into the game where the largest number of gems actually come from.
The fact they aren’t addressing this issue just leads to more bots farming ore because it’s insanely profitable vs pre phase 3.
Still have never bought an epic gem from AH. I just use my emblems to buy them, still have hundreds of conquest.
those AV matchs is 5~6min matchs, you can get 2~3gems per 1hour.
WG is like 10~15min and you can obtain 1gem out of it.
3hours of pvp should gives you 10x gems not 1 :S

Gems are 20 badges a pop, clearly ulduar 10 and 25 hardmodes is what 90 or so badges a week?
I bought about 25 gems day 1 of them being out and still have badges to spare.
If you actively play the game you should have plenty of gold ir badges/honor.
That said i have an abundance of badges just because i do dungeons for fun.
All wrath raids drop conquest now so there are a dozen raids you can do on same toon in same lockout.
There are so many ways to get gems that there’s no real excuse for saying that they’re too expensive.
So 5 gems… Two raids that I can only do once a week that will take probably 4-6 hours on a good day.
Enough gems to cover 2 upgrades.
I’ve got 9 upgrades on my Druid this week. Again, your math is wonkey.
Unless you were dumping all your emblems into conquest orbs you would have hundreds stock piled when ToC hit.
I was able to regem all my gear day one of ToC and cover all my upgrades so far without having to buy a single gem. With plenty of emblems left for the for seeable future.

I’ve gotten far more upgrades from the sounds of it. Probably nearing 30+ so far with many more to go.
Considering that’s probably 1400-1600 badges worth of gems, even if I had been stockpiling on multiple toons my substantial savings would be nearing its end soon.
LoL there aren’t even 30 gems slots on a character 
30 upgrades, not gem slots. I’ve replaced far more then 30 gems.
