hiow do i make a fresh post here?
So immersive, pulling out a magical chest from nowhere filled with thousands of potions, magical scrolls, thousands of pounds of meats, etc.
Disagree. I like Shadowlands gearing a lot, and mostly have minor nitpicks outside of the terrible patch-specific systems like Dom sockets or the cap on ilvl for M+.
ok well
itâs wildly unbalanced. they need to bring herbalism/alchemy in line with the other professions, or bring the other professions up to the standard of herb/alch.
we spend 1k gold on alchemy every hour, but a 40g gem lasts all tier.
Thatâs true. And even more than that, itâs every individual raider whoâs using those potions. Even for a regular consumable like food buffs, you only need one feast. For potions you need [raid size] x 2 combat potions per pull. Itâs really the only profession that weâre constantly sucking down our gullet every raid night.
Bad excuse. Itâs a fantasy game. Might as well just say you canât out on new gear, because itâs immersion breaking and you have to go to a dressing room to change your clothes.
So boring, unimaginative and rarely happens? Got it.
Do they though?
Some professions are âadventuring professionsâ, and some professions are âgoblin professionsâ. Thereâs plenty of money to be made with goblin professions if youâre an AH goblin and corner the market on some specific server by targeting some specific slot/armor type. Yeah, I donât really use leatherworking too much on a day-to-day other than turning some leather into kits, but thatâs fine, I have a âgoblin professionâ and donât really participate in the goblin game too much.
Honestly, I guess if I had to say, I would love to see Herbalism and Alchemy become secondary skills like cooking, as I see them mostly as useful skills for any adventurer to have. Sort of like a Witcher.
Whatâs boring about the gear? If anything, the gearing isnât boring enough in a certain way, as Dom sockets were too distracting of a feature. I think 9.2 is hitting a nice balance of having some pieces of gear with unique powers but isnât overbearing or distracting, other than tier.
Your BiS chest dropped but you canât wear it because itâs sized for a Gnome and youâre a Draenei.
Amusing not serious at all thought I had - solve the problem by making potions a one-time-per-gear purchase like gems or enchants. Potions equip to your helmet like those beer-drinking hats with the straws. Or like one of those camelback hiking backpacks on your cloak.
Donât worry Blizz Iâll send you the invoice.
LOL that would give tailors, leather workers and blacksmiths something to do!
I dunno, I make some decent cash just selling ore. Sometimes shadowghast ingots individually go for 200-300 a pop. Elethium fluctuates between 60-120 g and is available out the bunghole in korthia and zm.
Casual players donât engage with alchemy on that level, although they still have to engage with the leggo system. Even your laid-back 5th alt that you want to have fun with needs to buy an overpriced leggo to have access to core expansion features.
Iâm not saying alchemy isnât in demand, but this idea that all crafting professions are shafted is a joke. I consider Blacksmithing, Leatherworking, Tailoring, and Jewelcrafting to be way, way, WAY too important this expansion since they gate core gameplay features from players. If you had an alternative option to this get access to those cool gameplay features Iâd be fine with it, but you donât.
Every single player is having to engage with this on every single one of their characters, and many progression-minded players are having to spend new leggos every patch.
Fixating on 40g gems is a joke when Jewelcrafters can make leggo rings and necks. IMO at least.
Donât understand why they dont bring the colored gem sockets back.
If you just want access to the core expansion feature you donât need to spend that much money. The legendary effect is available on a rank 1 legendary and you can get those on the AH for pennies. The effect isnât any better on a rank 6, just the stats. Casuals and alts donât need to have the highest rank legendary, they can get away with whatever rank theyâre comfortable buying.
I agree with you generally though. The reason I didnât mention legendaries other than in passing is because I was speaking about professions more broadly. Professions only being important due to a feature which will only exist for a single expansion isnât something I see as being indicative of the professionâs viability compared to the others long term. If those professions want to continue being important next expansion, Blizz needs to reinvent crafting - again. However alchemy has no such worries since potions will still be potions in the 10.0 raid.
I agree that high rank legendaries cost too much investment to create and thus are too expensive on the AH for what they are. I get why theyâre so expensive because supply and demand and all that. But itâs not really a hill I was going to die on since the hill already has TNT set at its base thatâs set to go off after this raid tier is over.
Rank 3 leggos are dirt cheap but are literally outclassed in ilvl by 500 anima vendor items - that feels bad. It wasnât a problem in 9.0, and even in 9.1 it is okay, but your ilvl 250 alt in 9.2 (roughly the same as an ilvl 225 alt now) will be forced to use an item 25 ilvls below average unless you want to pay 10$ worth of gold or more. That feels bad.
I can grit my teeth through 9.2 but I hope they resolve it in 9.2.5.
