(Gem) "This item cannot be equipped"

I currently have a warlock Forged Gladiator PvP Helm (item level 600).

I bought the jewel socketing thing from the PvP vendor in Dornogal (the one that costs 3 vicious stones or something + a few thousand honor). This made my helm have a “prismatic socket.”

However, I went to the auction house to buy a Cognitive Bloodstone that says PvP Only. I tried to socket it into my helm, and it says “this item cannot be equipped.”

Then, I bought another Quick Sapphire (color is Sapphire) and tried to socket into the helm. Same thing.

What is happening?

Are you trying to drag and drop it onto the helm slot, or just right-clicking the gem?
If so that may be the issue.
You have to right-click the helm to open up the socket and drag drop the gem in the popup slot.

if that’s what you tried then I have no idea as this is not exactly my field of expertise.
