Just curious, but what’s the deal with gem scaling/not scaling?
I have garrosh heirloom weapons and I’d like to socket them, but the current state of gems is a mess.
First of all there are gems with the same exact amount of a stat on the AH that each have different iLvL requirements (IE two different gems that give +3 Haste but one has a ilvl 50 req, and the other an iLvL 37 req). Blizz, can we get these normalized?
Second, out of curiosity I tossed an iLvl 50 req gem in an heirloom on my level 50 and sent it to my lowbie (this toon) and the gem is BOTH scaled down in power (12 agi on my 50, showng 4agi on my alt AND de-activated). If they can scale like this, why aren’t they doing so in a functional way?
If this is planned but not yet implemented that’d be good to know, but at the moment gems really need some fixin’.
Yes, I’m aware that it’s not really important for leveling. But it is still frustrating to see that gems are in a WEIRD half-finished state after the squish. I will be fine leveling without them, but it’s still reasonable to expect blizz to at least clean them up.
Either make the stats on gems scale, or make them static. And fix the iLvl requirements so that the ilvl req so that gems of the same potency have the same requirements.
