the mystical skyfire diamond appears to proc on spellcast but doesnt apply its haste to the spell that procced it. problem is the haste only lasts 3 seconds which means its not doing anything since only spell fast enough to cast before buff expires is instant cast, and instant doesnt need it cuz… its instant. hehe
Proc should be 6 seconds and the proc not applying to the spell that procced it is correct behavior.
Instant cast spells still benefit, as they trigger the global cooldown, and the global cooldown is reduced from 1.5 seconds potentially down to 1 second via haste effects.
its not 6, its 3. so if frost bolt is 2+ sec cast and the meta procs on cast, theres like 1 second left to cast anything
This is the proc from Mystical Skyfire Diamond. If it is not 6 seconds, that itself is a bug.
Haste effects do not need to last the entire duration of the spell that they are hasting. If you have even .1 seconds left of a haste effect and just start the cast, the entire cast benefits, no matter how long. This is a key principle behind minmaxing Affliction Warlock execute DPS.
its 3 seconds. sounds like they nerfed it back in patch 2.41. i havent noticed any increase at all. so it may be broken and only procs the timer but doesnt apply the haste
It’s actually 4 seconds; if you click through to the Proc Trigger Spell, you get the actual buff that’s applied. Because of the way in-game timers work, the buff timer will show 3s while you are actually at 3.1- 3.9s remaining.
The 6 second tooltip has been wrong since it was nerfed during TBC, but you also never see that tooltip in game unless you manually link it.
Either way, this seems to be working as intended, and even with the first spell not benefiting, most classes can get 2 casts to benefit from this haste proc.
well its not doing anything other than popping a timer on the screen, from what i can tell, and a super short one at that
