Geforce RTX 3080 review is out

I do remember going to BEST stores a lot as a kid. They didn’t have ads that I remember, but it was always fun to go in there and get hands-on with all the stuff they would have on display.

yes it was east coast and the guy really was “crazy” see you’s link

I might even end up with Zen 3 first at this rate.

I think 10 GB is more than enough for me on 1440p.

I might update to Zen 2 if it’s good. But mostly because

  1. I get the itch and I need to scratch
  2. I can retire the i3 in my daughter’s system and they get upgrades

RTX 3090 looks like crap from rumor.

Paying double the price for 10%? I’ll pass.

Definitely doesn’t look like it’s worth the hefty price tag if those numbers are real. I’ll be playing in the 3080 or even 3070 range depending on how those benchmark next month.

My head says wait for big navi too but AMD driver supports leaves something to be desired.

look on the bright side, you can probably heat a small studio apartment with one

Good news for my desktop then.

Debating upgrading my 2060 for a 3070 next year. Hm.

That will be significant. 3070 should be easily handle 1440p gaming.

I don’t do 1440.

3070 is still a compelling argument for 1080p high refresh, so long as you have a strong enough CPU and play games that can actually leverage both.

WoW only sometimes is.

Yeah actually I myself am aiming for the 3070.

I agree that it’s too early to jump to conclusions with benchmarks regarding the new GPUs as drivers aren’t fully optimised yet. My 1660ti recently got a nice performance boost in WoW from a recent update months ago so that makes me a believer in proper driver optimisation.

What kind of framerates are we talking for WoW in 4K with these new cards?

I’m curious about this too.

I just ordered a new PC, it’s a prefab but I was able to get a discount on it with some connections I have and the price is pretty good. I basically ended up paying $60ish over PCPartPicker prices and I don’t have to assemble the thing. I’ve built computers before but I absolutely despise doing it.

It includes an RTX 3080 and the monitor I have is 4k so I’m wondering if I should purchase another lower-resolution monitor

I am holding off buying anything at this stage…its all hype until the benchmarks are out for the games you like playing.
