i don’t feel so bad about getting a 20s now
As someone who games at 1440p, Im thinking the 3070 is gonna be a good sweet spot probably. 3080 seems more worthwhile at 4k right now.
This is just the first set of reviews. The drivers aren’t nearly optimized yet and it’s showing 20-30% gain. We go through this with every launch. A couple years ago people were flipping out over the RTX having a 5-10% gain @1080p on the first reviews. The stats on Ampere look to be a huge upgrade at a much lower price point. A lot of us who passed on the RTX 20 series are going to be very happy.
Can you link this? I’d like to see the numbers for the 3600. Thanks!

It’s a tiny bit different than the 3900x, not really significant.
Asus TUF Gaming OC RTX 3080 review:
Cooler card. No passthrough airflow though.
And just like that, fr 559 to 600am, within the space of one F5, both best buy and nvidia went from notify me coming soon to out of stock.
Can’t compete with bots
Someone needs to come up with a way to stop or at least slow down the online shopping bots, they ruin every major release.
OR
they never existed in the first place.
There’s been speculation in the community that this was all but a paper launch.
My local Micro Center has/had 10 in stock but it’s not the model I want. I’m also curious to see what 3090 benchmarks look like.
There are plenty listed on ebay (for outrageous prices btw), so I’d say they probably did exist.
All expensive AIBs?
Allegedly - i hope all of those ebay cards get stiffed on payment
Yeah, the EVGA XC3.
Only $950-1100 up here for the 3080. I guess eating Mac and cheese longer then a couple months is ok…
USA appears to be largely vapor
none of my local stores has one :< Maybe microcenter is keeping them in the back and not on the site >.>
3 of the 5 Microcenters near me had cards in stock, but I’m waiting to see the 3070s and what AMD is offering before making any decisions.
WHAT!?!? The microcenter near me has RTX 3000 series in the filter but its greyed out.
Yeah, NY Metro area - there are 5 within driving distance. 3 had cards when I first checked. Only 1 had cards when I posted. All gone now. They were EVGA and MSI.
I only play WoW (at 1440/144) and the 3080 seems like overkill especially since I’m happy with my 2070. Seeing the numbers is making me think about making the move to 4k eventually - maybe in 1-2 years when there are more high refresh monitors at decent prices.
