Gearing up

Is it possible to gear up for Arenas by doing BGs only?
Thank you for responses in advance

No. Farm stygia/do the korthia dailies, buy loot boxes, upgrade the vers pieces to 220, get a crafted 230, a leggo, and some auction house BOEs to reach 226. Then buy a boost to 1800.

He is not joking, if you actually wanna learn how to play, because gear is so horribly busted right now, you have 2 options, suffer to 1800, or boost to 1800 then be on bascially even footing with everyone else.

Becasue honor gear also, for some reason, is time gated, you end up getting gimped with honor gear that is stuck at 213 ilvl that you cant make better until like august 10th.

If you really dont wanna boost, which i dont blame you. Here is your options. Go do korthia, grind out gear and get it to 220, do what ever content you can to get 220 gear, buy honor to suplement, then grind out low cr yolos either RBGs or Arenas, to get conquest cap and start buying conquest gear.

Basically that’s what PVP gearing is this expansion.

The best way to learn your class is to be geared first. You won’t learn much from dying in a few globals.

I sympathize with wanting to earn your stuff. However, you will still be putting in the work before you get boosted. Even boosters have minimum standards for who they boost nowadays. 226 is a good starting point for getting into rated PVP, boost or not. And this should go without saying, but you will still have to actively participate in games.

Sure you can try to earn your 1800, but you’re going to struggle especially since boosters are starting now to boost people, and their gear is going to be like 240+ ilevel. The gear gap just keeps growing larger.

I suggested a boost for you since you don’t know your class yet, and a gear disadvantage will just make that even harder to deal with.

THIS… Its sad but true. PVP gearing is stupid

Yep, you don’t learn much getting killed in a second or two.

Who are random BGs made for again? Who does that content serve?

Yep, you need to do some raiding, high key mythics or rated pvp to prepare yourself for random BGs (if you want to have fun).

How do i get boosted? Can i have your battletag?

I can’t believe this thread has turned into a boosting advertisement.

Definitely use Korthia, but you will also want to fill out some slots from PvP gear. In my experience, there were only a few Korthia pieces that I liked much better, but having the pieces in your bag will let people know that you won’t actually be 203 ilevel when you jump in arena. With honor gear and Korthia, you are fine to grind up to 1400, which is fine to get you 1600, which is fine to get you to 1800.

Literally just open up the pvp LFG and you will see that like 60% of the groups are for boosting. Its really sad blizzard is doing nothing for it.

But yeah, korthia is your go to, unfortutatly for you, if you were not already farming it you are about 3 weeks behind everyone else. so…get farming kid.

save your gold and just partysync!

Or play the real game.

If party sync gave rating sure.

aint nobody got time for that

yes if you have friends. if not… enjoy PvEing until you get at least 210 ilvl…

I random BG with an occasional mythic 0 dungeon. Currently 208 PvP level. Renown level 42. Next week I’ll be able to upgrade honor gear. I have the conquest weapon. I don’t bother with rated content.

At PvP level 208, I wonder if hidden scaling is back. Yes I die fast If focused by a group but it’s always been that way. I can survive better than last season, but that maybe skill related as I’ve learned Monk survival is linked with movement and teleporting. Run away brave Sir Robin!
