Obviously not because you still haven’t learned basic social guidelines and had to ask the forums.
i am making paragraphs. i’m just not adding an extra space in there such as yourself. not everyone in every part of the world uses the same format. you do realize that some people read right to left, correct? you may say po-tay-toe, i may say po-tah-toe. neither is incorrect.
Pronuinication and formating aren’t the same thing my dude. You do not read english right to left, under no circumstance do you read right to left in english unless specifically told to.
didn’t play either Classic or BC Classic. So it’s been 14 years since i last played WotLK, there about. Coming from last playing retail after BFA, i don’t remember nor recall every little nuance and game mechanic. and seeing as it hasn’t been prevalent until the last few levels, i wasn’t paying to close attention
You should have the basic ability to remember that from vanilla to cata launch, multiple specs wore multiple armor types depending on need. It’s not a mechanic.
That’s different from this situation, given the lack of context provided by the OP.
At that point, it’s on you and your group, then. A DK doesn’t need that gear, and it should be common sense to anyone.
I presume you’re referring to Spell Damage pants? The same pants that Elemental Shamans can use?
Again, this is kind of on you and your party for not dealing with the DK earlier in the run.
Absolutely. However, since 2004, most classes allowed to wear multiple armor types have used each available type. For example, Holy Paladins wearing cloth and leather armor - DPS Warriors wearing Leather and Mail. The list goes on.
They made this thread because they have to compete with other players for gear, just because “You can wear other types!” That’s not how Wrath, or any iteration of Classic, for that matter, works.
That’s why Blizzard added a personal buff in CATA for those wearing all of their optimal armor class type. So, until then…it’s a mess. As for certain toxic players rolling need on stuff they don’t really need or for offspec-use against someone who needs it for mainspec-use - well good luck with that. Only solution is to run with known guildies/friends.
this is 101% true! I suffered from 10 to 60 as a healer druid never getting in groups… i sat in the lfg channel for hours apon hours trying to get in groups. one of my guildies said why are you trying to be a healer, you should just go boomkin and quest to level up faster, the minute i switched to boomkin and was soloing crazy stuff, i started to get invited into groups left and right and most of the time i wasnt even in the lfg tool.
It really sucks at some level ranges that there is no groups at all, not sure why that is but its a real stink fest if you cant really solo effectively during that time.
Yeah, but thats really the only way that Blizzard can do anything about it is if loot rules are set and followed. Otherwise you are just s.o.l and have to deal with it.
You can also ask what the loot rules are going into it. If no one answers and people are needing on everything then do the same and do with it what you want. Also if its greens and not boss loot, if everyone is rolling need on it then do the same. They are setting a standard for the dungeon.
This is a 2 decades old issue that was ultimately corrected… but this is Classic… So you’re just gonna have to suck it up and deal with it…
It’s like choosing to go on a wilderness retreat and then complaining about the lack of television… It seems like you were maybe just confused on the concept.
They fix it in later expansions by strongly incentivizing players to wear their “proper” armor type. Warriors in retail still can wear leather but they won’t because it’s almost always worse for them. You even see it a little now with talents like “armed to the teeth,” but, again, he’s complaining about the lack of something thats a retail feature so…
Sure it sucks, but I in no way expect other players to pass on a great upgrade just because they have other options available. Especially since those other options are very often not even close to as good as their cloth options. This is especially true in classic, and becomes less of an issue in Northrend. That being said, you’re always going to compete with classes that rely on spellpower, because being BiS isn’t always plate/mail/leather specific.
In vanilla there was little/no leather/mail gear with SP on it, and for holy paladins iirc the BIS list was also full of cloth. The issue isn’t the players, it’s the design. People are making due.
Pretty much every casters/healer is going to be rolling on cloth in BRD, it’s just how it is.
The good news is all that BRD gear will get replaced by outland 58 greens, so…whoever wins will replace it soon, and whoever loses will get something better soon enough.
Yeah, thats later on and doesnt help anyone now. Just get loot rules and then if the group breaks those loot rules get their name down and put in a ticket. Give Blizzard as much information as possible, like the loot rules and so on.
That is if you want to do that while leveling. If everyone else is needing on everything then do the same and sell or DE it if you win it.
Yea no… Ticket wait times are already 2 millenia, last thing we need is something else for yall to whine about in tickets… Its a social game, this is a social problem. Fix it with a social solution.
Unless your team is stacked with clothie DPS, you should really only be competing against your healer for gear.
As a Resto Druid, if there are DPS clothies I normally only need on expressly healer gear or if I see they greed/pass an item I want. And in general, players should not roll need for off-spec gear when somebody else needs it for main-spec (IE, the Feral Druid shouldn’t be rolling need on spell DPS gear for Balance unless nobody else needs it).
It sounds like you might benefit from setting some expectations on loot when the group forms. That doesn’t mean being rude or greedy, just recognising that you bring value to the team and want something commensurate in return. And part of that would be having the self-respect to leave midway through a dungeon if people don’t respect that.
I definitely wouldn’t hang around in a group where somebody rolled need on a class-restricted item they couldn’t use. And if they have a problem with that, they can have fun finding a replacement.
Cloth gear is the most abundant gear with caster stats it seems. I leveled a paladin as holy and often had to use non-plate gear just because it was the best available.
I think anyone has a right to roll need on any gear type for their main spec, but if they’re rolling for their off spec and you lose out on upgrades, that does suck.
What do you mean yall? I dont put in tickets. You arent going to fix it through social remedies. Not everything can be solved through words and its one of the lies people keep telling themselves. Sometimes things have to be solved through action.
