Just leveled my first alt that did not benefit from the purple 480 gear of the prepatch event and I am coming in at Ilvl 340 Ish by questing.
Killing a simple mob in TWW content is akin to fighting a raid boss.
Is there a quick mechanic to get you geared adequately for TWW ?
Also, strangely my heirlooms are just 340. Maybe it’s an adjustment issue but if they steppes to 450 when you reach 70 it would get you functionnal for the new content
(( already checked the AH, there is some ILVL 425 ish greens but they are 25k to 60k a pop so yeah… ))

Could try some timewalking dungeons, they give leveled gear.

If you can get to 71 and have crafting alts, there’s the chest/wrist/boots that can be made, ring/neck from jc, and cloak from tailor. All those are 520 something and should bring your ilvl up quite a bit. I do this on all of my alts.

I just buy some greens off the AH. I leveled my rogue to 70 entirely in time walking. He hit 70 without ever equipping bracers and still had several pieces of starter gear. Every mob was a boss fight.
If you have some timewarped badges, you might check to see if any of the gear that Bobadormu sells would help.
Yes. Df wq and dreamsurges.
You should be 460 in an hour.
If you time it right, you can also do the superbloom for 2 460 to 480 pieces.
The fyrakk little mini world event in either plans or azure.
I do this on all my alts to make dungeon clearing astronomically easier. I wouldn’t waste gold on 70 greens when there is so much world content available.

Dragonflight dailies offer decent gear, wouldn’t recommend heirlooms since those max out at 327 at full upgrade.
Forbidden Reach drops 385 warbound tokens that become Elemental Overflow epic sets. This sets you up to do Zaralek Caverns and Emerald Dream which is 480+
Sadly, heirlooms aren’t really worth using anymore. Since you learn flying at 10 even the mount isn’t really worth it.
As mentioned, your best bet is TWing or doing DF WQs. Keep in mind you can buy gear with your TW tokens too.

Thanks all, Will try all that.
Heirloom are so costly that they should just go back to being overpowered as they once were. It would also apres up the leveling process a bit more.
Just level in timewalking.
Timewalking dungeons will get you to 80 quickly. You will get gear by doing them. They can even gear you up well enough to run heroic dungeons (567 gear) if you run the dungeons at level 80. You can also (once at level 80), purchase 558+ green items on the auction house.
That pre-patch gear was nifty.
i wouldnt know tbh, too much effort to get in a buggy, rushed pre-patch event.
I didn’t have any problem taking alts in terrible gear into TWW. It’s not that bad, and TWW levelling throws gear at you.
Did your main get reputations up to snuff? If you did and your main is overloaded with crystal currency, that currency can be transferred to alts who can just buy veteran Head/Shoulder/Chest gear and champion Bracer/Belt/Boots gear.
Did you buy at least one tab in the war-bank for you main to throw “war-bound” gear into for your alts? My fresh alts typically have 558 gear waiting for them as soon as they hit 80 and lots of greens to take out of the bank from 70 onward.
Did your main do Delves? You can buy entire 580 gear sets (blue) with Undercoin currency from the vendor by Brann in Dornogal and mail it to your alts.
Otherwise I think Time walking is likely the best way to go if you’re having issues with gear at 70-79, once you hit 80 there’s lots of options to get to 585 ilvl and do T8 delves right away.
