So, I spent my time in remix, and punted on S4. Which is fine.
My plan was to level and gear my alts in the Pre Patch, I’ve done that before. Just run the stuff, get the set and be done with it.
It’s not clear to me if this pre-patch is going to go as smoothly for that. The whole 90m thing early on really puts a damper of funneling the toons through, and I sure wouldn’t want to have to cram it all in, in the last 2 weeks.
They’ll be out and about anyway, taking advantage of the new XP boost to 70.
But, I have some 70s that don’t need that, and curious if I can just get them a solid bump doing basic weeklies and WQs. I’d like to avoid the M+ grind, I want something more deterministic.
Piddy is 471, and my warrior is 444. The pre-patch is supposed to be 489.
I just don’t know the state of things in S4 right now. I know there’s bullion, but that a raid/m+ thing. I don’t know if there’s another new currency, or the ones we have are buffed for new gear (like they did with the Deamsurge stuff).
Is there “simple” stuff I can solo and do right now to bump my gear up? Or is the pre-patch the way ?

I feel like pre-patch is the best bet now. I’m mostly waiting on gearing other characters until then. I switched over to trying SoD for a few weeks instead.
The weekly quest and world event caches were helping me gear up before I took a break. It was pretty easy to get to 450-470 that way. I’m sure thats more than good enough for leveling in The War Within.
But I’m planning to get the new gear from pre-patch for a few Remix characters ai want to play.
You could do the weekly quest from Valdrakken. It will net you 3 pcs at least 480 and one 502 I think.
I suspect the prepatch will be more efficient though. I’m waiting for it on 2 of my alts who are around 415 ilvl.
It’s not clear to me that the remix toons can participate in the pre-patch. (This doesn’t bother me, it would have been a “nice to have”, but it wasn’t my main plan anyway.)
Doing the “awakened” world events will get you some 480 gear without much trouble. Completing the corresponding weekly quest awards 493 - 502 gear. Beyond that, I’d just wait for the pre-patch event to start.
Not sure what’s going on with Remix alts, but I used the boatloads of dreaming essence I had to buy a bunch of boa gear to send them, so they’ll be around 450 ilvl, whether I decide to play them or not.
I wouldn’t even sweat it unless you really want to. Leveling seems tuned for someone in the low 400’s in iLevel.
I’m sure whatever I do, it’ll all be vendored by the time we hit 73 anyway.
I may wait for pre-patch. I mostly looking forward to the XP buff. I have a bunch of 60-62s.
I’ll bounce around and at least do some weeklies, can’t hurt.

There is a week between the end of Remix and that start of TWW, so you could technically get Remix alts into it that week, unless they end the event early due to early access, or whatever.
Aside from that, you should still get plenty of alt gear tokens that you can store in your Warbank until Remix alts get released from their time bubble.

When I did the first zone on the beta they were giving me 430 gear for quest rewards. They don’t expect you to be geared in order to do the content.
It’s timewalking week this week. That’ll help.
I wouldn’t really expect to gear alts from remix. Its such a short time you will likely get better items in the first level or two of TWW.
There isn’t a op movement trinket this time you wanna get like last time. Least I dont think there is.

Run lfr for bullion and get bis weapons/trinkets/rings at 493 ilvl, do the weekly last hurrah thing and kill the world bosses for ur other slots. Use crafting to fill in non tier slots at 502 ilvl with 0 crests.

They can’t, but the gear is Warbound. Stick it in your new Warband bank and give it to the alts on launch day.

LFR is pretty straightforward. run the whole current awakened raid and you are pretty likely to get 4 bullion. that is enough to get a pair of awesome trinkets or get a great weapon.
I got a 502 item from the weekly 5 timewalking dungeons. if you ahve awakened sparks and enough flightstones, you can have a few 502 items pieces made. my opinion, craft non-tier piece items (waist, wrist, cloak). do prepatch stuff for champion gear for your 4piece.
as we all know, you will replace all this stuff anyway before you hit max level and then you do it all again lol
Drake’s crests are still a bit of an unnecessary bottleneck. They only drop in M0, normal raids, and from the weekly quest. None of these are farmable due to weekly lockouts.
That leaves either exchanging upward (90 Whelping’s Crests for 15 Drakes), which can be somewhat farmed by collecting the green bubbles in Dream Surge areas, or exchanging 15 Wyrm’s Crests (from M+ 2-5) for 15 Drake’s Crests. Getting into groups with low item level is difficult, and Wyrm’s will be needed for upgrading past 502 too.
This should at least be easier in TWW when M0s will have daily lockouts.
