Gear Update Resets Action Bars

I haven’t seen this mentioned in a while, but it’s still a big pain point to me that stops me from using the Gear Update option.

I’m guessing Blizzard doesn’t care, probably thinking “Gear Update is a privilege not a right, so be thankful you get anything, and just don’t use it if there’s something about it you don’t like”.

On the off chance they do care, and it won’t cost us a raid tier to implement, having the option to not reset the action bars would be very appreciated.

Over 20 years, I have accumulated dozens of alts, with dozens of useful macros & hundreds of toys & mounts, of which various alts have various of the useful ones on their action bars.

So between learning the new talents trees, going online and figuring out my rotation, moving the spells around on the action bar, adjusting macros, I’m already spending a lot of time to figure out how to play the alt again, and with the action bar resets, you can add going through the dozens of general & toon specific macros and hundreds of toys to finish setting my bars back up.

I end up spending more time setting up the toon and getting it ready to play than I do playing it.

A lot of that pre-play time may be unavoidable, so any time that is able to be saved, for example: STOP RESETTING THE BARS, would be appreciated.

Oh yep, OP, I think I read about this some months ago? Still not fixed, huh…

Google AI seemed to think there was a option available to leave bars alone, so it gave me hope, but I couldn’t find it in the upgrade option, and looking at a Wiki it seemed clear that the option to not clear the bars didn’t exist.
