I used the gear update option on an Allied Race character I haven’t played in ages and I am unable to get my Mechagnome heritage armor.
Is this intended?

This kind of makes sense as it appears they re-used the Character Boost code (and as such it applies all the same rules as using a boost).
True. But I didn’t realize that until I clicked OK and it said “Applying Boost…” or whatever as it was doing it’s thing. I was instantly thinking, “Mistakes may have been made.”
Edited to add that I don’t mind having to relevel a Mechagnome if it is indeed intended.
Yeah, I’m sure it wasn’t intended, but rather a side effect that no one considered at the time of creation. I took advantage of the gear on like 6 toons (just to vendor for gold, they all had better gear already and better bags), but in the end not sure it was worth the effort of having to swap everything back and vendor the stuff.
Is this still an issue? I chose the Gear Upgrade option on a lowbie void elf that I haven’t touched in forever and realized after the fact and don’t want to realize at level 50 it was a waste.
As far as I know, this issue was fixed towards the end of July.
Thanks, Battlecruisr! It looks like there was a hotfix.
They did indeed fix it. I was able to get it on my mechagnome that had the issue.
Mine did not. I turned in the very last quest and did not get my armor set
