Gear rewards that gets removed

I hate this, can you please change it. For example, when looking through transmog options for my druid, I see the cycle gear. It looks so amazing, yet I find I cannot get it because it was locked out from MOP. Why? Why create content like this? I can understand maybe a weapon or 2, but an entire set of Transmog gear? Your staff probably spent hours creating it, not you cannot even get it anymore. So annoying.

The cycle gear? What is that.

Oh i made a thread about this and as to why it happens

In short blizzard and some players the are desperate to feel special are telling everyone that they should have been playing this game since the start else it is their fault for not having those rewards even if that person is a new player that was to young to even play the game at that time.

I am guessing you’re talking about challenge armor. It was given for a specific set of dungeon challenges only relevant during Mists. Really the origin of today’s Mythics. The armor was the reward for those people who did the content while it was relevant.

Sorry you missed it.

Yeah like buying many of those carries sold in /1 and /2

And the new player that was too young to be playing the game says, “you can not feel special because I wan’t that item.”

Again Ralph there’s nothing wrong with the nostalgia feels of saying, “I was there.”

The dungeon challenge set for warrior in mop is the exact same as the skyhold set

Idk if this is true for other classes

You keep tacking on difficulty or challenge to getting said item. Like I told you in the other thread, the players achieved being active during said xpac.

All the class hall sets are based on the MoP challenge mode gear, but the shoulders have been changed to be less ornate in the Legion versions. As well as being recolored.

If people want that so much they dont need time limited content to make them feel special, a tactic used by blizzard.

The new players who see a nice mog item that isnt available anymore get told it is THEIR FAULT for not being there even though it wasnt possible, so yeah, it is a moronic excuse

Literally the mage towers were a joke after you got geared from Antorus, it was a pain on my lock and when i decided to play a mage in 7.3 and geared, when i tried it i one shotted because the damage i did was ridiculous.

Mage towers were a joke, only ultra bad players could fail them once they were geared in 7.3, so that is just an excuse

None of the Legion class hall sets are the same as the MoP CM sets. They are all heavily pared down, mostly on the shoulders/helm or doodads on the belt. They also completely lack the special effects on the CM armor. For example, the DK CM armor has several horns on the belt/shoulders/hat that glow icy blue when you use an ability. Nothing like that on the green watered down set, and the horns are removed too.

It’s a moronic argument to say “x item should be available because I wasn’t able to play that xpac because insert reason here”

We’re talking one item out of thousands upon thousands. I believe you all will live being as you’ve made it this far.

So why are you here crying about them, since you presumably completed them all.

Your logic is flawed on so many levels.

It was a reward for those who did it when it was relevant. They had to bust their rears for it. Regardless if you were able to complete it or not, it was made perfectly clear as to how it would be a one shot pony.

Much like a lot of other things in this game no longer attainable.

I wasn’t able to get the transmog sets during MoP or the weapons from WoD … I played extensively through both. I just didn’t have the necessary skill/patience to try to get them - even though I REALLY wanted them. I’m perfectly okay knowing I had my chance and didn’t utilize it.

It made me try even harder for the mage tower skins, which I unlocked almost every single one of them … KNOWING it was my only chance.

All this being said … you make a statement like this, implying it’s relevant to you …

Then you follow it up with this …

Implying you were around when it was relevant, cause how would you know that was even a thing if you weren’t playing?

I hate rated PvP but I had to have my current elite PvP set I am transmog into. It’s so undead themed I love it. So I got up off my boney bottom and did rated RBGs up to 1800. I worked hard for it and I would be annoyed if someone can just go back and buy the same armor set with honor in the next expansion because they didn’t earn it.

There should be some sense of “Omg look how cool that guy looks, I want to get that”

but then you…cant?

I feel like they should occasionally allow the community to experience older content for removed items.

Removing game items for created scarcity makes as much sense to me as blizzard removing all zones except the current xpac.

Also im not sure why blizzard insists on dumpstering older content that was acutally fun, keeping it in game, but removing drops.

This game would be insanely fun if i could do older xpacs for relevant gear and non one shot enemy mechanics.

I feel like they chose time gated WQ over experiencing the whole game. Bring back older content and removed drops let people with a life experience the whole game if they want.

While I get your point, if something is advertised as limited time like challenge mode or mage tower then it is limited time.

I don’t have any challenge mode either. I was not playing then. And that is quite ok.

It is ok to have limited time offerings.

And this is where your argumenr falls apart. It is nobody’s fault they were not playing at that time. It just is the truth.

Further, it can be a motivating factor to not miss that next sweet mog for new players as well.

Let me ask you this. Should people that start up in Shadowlands be able to get that sweet Deathwing mount? It is a limited time anniversary event after all
