Gear Requirements for Naxx

Hypothetical:
A player gets full T1 along with T2 helm from Ony and any other BiS available during P1 &P2
Would that player be geared enough for Naxx raid progression? Is the T1 set (for appropriate specs) enough to be able to skip BWL/AQ gear and work on Naxx?

In this hypothetical question, the player isn’t wanting to be carried and isn’t trying to do anything out of the norm as far as classes playing their optimal specs. Nor is this warlock (or even dps) specific.

And I know we don’t know if P6 will release in 4 months or a year. I’m not worrying about the future, just curious about gear requirements for that raid.

No, MC gear will not let you skip bwl…

Probably not. There is a reason why the raids went in sequence…

You will probably want at least everyone in BWL and AQ40 gear. You can probably carry one or two players in lesser gear, but you might not want to. Many fights are dps and healing checks and you will want the best players in all 40 slots.

No if you value your time and money for repair bills at all.

I think you might be able to kill Razuvius with max consumables and class stacking, but I doubt a raid in T1 gear could kill most of those bosses.

I’m also pretty sure a T1-geared tank would be a messy smear on the floor before the fight ended (except for Raz for obvious reasons).

You need Naxx gear to raid Naxx.

Thanks for responses

This is idiotic. By that logic, Naxx would never be cleared because you need the gear from already having cleared it to first clear it.

since people have been clearing MC in greens and without full groups. I’d speculate that Naxx will be much easier than it was back at original release and people will be on here at that time to tell everyone that Naxx isn’t easier, it’s just that people are smarter now.

The reason they’re able to do so is because we’re playing patch 1.12, not patch 1.1. As a result, we have the benefit of a year+ worth of talent and gear changes.

However, by the time we reach Naxx, we’ll be playing Naxx with the gear/patch it was released as.

The Tier 1 raid gear is generally no where near as good as the itemization we get in BWL.

This is the tier where you can progress fine in blues and greens because for alot of classes thats whats bis now, the other raids in vanilla will require you to get gear and progress along the normal path.

If you take a break for a full raid tier, your catch up mechanic is having your raid pull you through farm content and feed you drops.

don’t kid yourselves guys. as much as I wanted it to be, the content being released in classic raids is not the classic i remember.

Unless Blizz really works on the tuning done in the classic versions of BWL and Naxx, people will be clearing them as quickly and as easily as they have cleared the currently available content.

Quick correction: Naxx was released in patch 1.11. We’re playing on an updated version of patch 1.12.

Not saying 1.12 trivializes Naxx, but there were some changes and buffs.

I don’t think I need to explain the joke to you.

Pretty much this…we would see little progression when we first started Naxx 40. This was a fully geared t2 group that was on point with full consumes. I remember wiping on the very first trash pull in spider wing in just seconds and this was a group that fully cleared BWL in just 2 or 3 weeks of attempts. Things might translate differently now but it was a massive gear check and a simple mistake by just few in the raid was typically not recoverable.

BWL was an absolute cakewalk in comparison and MC is nothing besides the amount of trash pulls

Apes will probably clear naxx in all greens with alts on release day

The hardest fight in naxx mechanically is the safety dance.

Every heroic raider on retail can easily do naxx level mechanics.

It being easy for some doesn’t make it easy for all though, plenty of guilds cannot clear MC yet because bad etc.

Skill is nice and all but Naxx has a lot of number checks. You can’t “outskill” 6k hateful strikes for example.

Unless you plan to get severly carried, no. Naxx has some serious dps checks.

There’s a number of bosses in Naxx that can be easily killed with current gear levels.

Anub’rekhan only has 1.5 million hp, that’s not even double Magmadar’s.

Yea, if your a mythic raider your going to go through classic raids like a hot knife through butter.

Luckily for classic, most players arent mythic raiders, and even on herod many pugs have trouble going 8/10 in MC, which boggles the mind.

When Naxx comes out there will be a ton of people that have much better gear than what you listed, the odds that you are chosen over them in this situation is very small.
