Gear Requirement for Scarlet Raid?

Can I come back to experience the new raid? Or am I going to be too severely undergeared since I didn’t bother with the old raids at 60? I don’t even have Tier 1.

So, lets me get this straight… You want to jump right into Scarlet raid with greens/blues? You want the long or short answer?

Go farm some badges homie.

No worries, I am sure you can probably get carried.

Make sure after you get trucked you come on the forums to complain and ask for nerfs!

Like everyone who’s anyone, I stopped playing SOD in Phase 4 when it rehashed old raids instead of providing new content. But now there’s new content for Phase 8.

The real question is will it be higher gear requirements / drops than Naxx or lower? If it’s higher, how does one catch up quickly? I’m not sure what farming badges means.

Careful sport…your troll is showing.

Might want to dial it back a bit if you want more responses.

Hey deus nice to see you!

So you can farm all the old dungeon content for days and days waiting sometimes an hour to get a group for scholo. Then, you collect these undermine real tokens which can be turned into gear! After a week or so of farming and running all the old content , you may be able to get 4 pieces of tier 2 and 4 pieces of tier 1. However theres now a big problem. with a gear score of 850 unfortunately you are still a scrub and won’t be invited into aq ruins, aq temple or kara. BTW you also need to attune for kara which is quite a pain! So with an 850 gs you might be able to get into bwl, then you can try to get tier, or your class weapon! if you lose out, you gotta wait a week. You still won’t be invited to aq ruins, aq temple or kara. you can do the 4 dragons every 3 days, only to lose to 5 other alts that are trying to gear. Most of the dragon raids are merely alts. Also watch out for all the HR’s!

You can try for naxx but alas! most groups requiires 8/8 which… require kara. So you might be saying is it worth it? Well you tell me. Its quite a conondrum isn’t it. I forgot to mention blizz has done ZERO balancing in months, they want the phase to end just as much as the player base. So if you enjoy wasting your time to prep for the last phase of a dying seasonal server, well yes. its worth it. Sod was fun a year and a ago. But like an old dog, it needs to be put to the pasture.

my suggestion since you are a warlock is sell summons, dont gear. Make gold, then… profit. wink wink.

Of course it would be higher.

If you want to catch up its gonna take a few weeks, assuming ur a DPS lock and not tank it will be easier to rat though. Just spam Strat, Scholo, DFC, MC, BWL, AQ, ZG, Kara. If you rat as DPS u will get enough reals and gear overall, with average luck assuming all you join are SR runs anyway. Its gonna take a while but you can build a respectable set in 2-4 weeks depending on ur luck. And if you can rat in a Naxx run try that.

As someone that started month ago yes real gear is nice start but ZG and AQ ruins are very easy to get into with just real gear

BWL can be tricky to pug but not impossible
AQ40 I’ve only pugged once and at time was mostly real gear and couple pieces from ZG/AQ10

Kara crypts and naxx are where I’m running into problems the seal part is easy but outside the undead set getting those other 4 sanc pieces is impossible without naxx or KC
I don’t think anyone knows if the new raid will be catch up or not

Hope this helps

‘can i play the end game content without playeing the rest of the game?’

Blizzard has put several ways for you to catch up.

Unfortunately, the playerbase sheep will gatekeep you from it all.

Hardest thing to get will be weapons. They need to add some catch up weapons and jewelry.

Reals get you lots of armour 8/8 T1 and 4/8 T2 so thats nice. You just need the attunements sobyou can visit the tier vendor.

or maybe… just maybe…

you could work on getting the best gear you can and then try to get in the last raid of the season?

i know its a weird concept but it is actually a game.

Hopefully blizz realizes that there’s a casual community their completely screwing by not making gear accessible without the necessity for addons, or loot reserves; i.e. catch up mechanics like real purchasable tier and weapons etc.

Also quit at p4 and came back just to play the Kara and new stuff. Was pleasantly surprised how fast it took to get to 60. The new abilities make you go burrr in dungeons. Aq and zg offer some stuff.
I’ve been playing ketchup for the last few weeks. The gear score meta is kinda bunk.
Maxd out my character with all the reals items I can get.
Hit this GS of 875- Which is 5/8 T2 3/8 T1 all purple trinkets - A couple 80 items.
I’ve been able to do some Kara with guildies to completion tanking and healing.
But,
If I post on LFG that I am interested in Kara/bwl/aq/naxx - No one wants an 875 tank or healer unless they are desperate for people.

So there is this wall of Pug that is purely due to the gear score meta.

Man, I don’t know if it’s worth investing a month grinding out reels for gear that is considered sub-par just for a chance to experience the new raid a few times before the server dies completely. I’d hate to put in the work and then never catch an invite. They really flubbed up SOD post phase 3, didn’t they?

I don’t see how, they gave people plenty of ways to catch up with gear, i stopped playing in P4, came back the last week of p6 and got geared enough to do basically anything in like a week and a half.

Also will be crafted gear next phase for scarlet stuff which is blue and has some decent stats on it, so it’ll be even easier to start catching up.

Honestly, make friends, join a guild. In ONE WEEK of doing all raids you could get geared up with some luck, especially if a HM 4 Guild is up to funnel you some loot? Lol, you could have 6pc t3 in your first naxx run easy.

Even pugging you can gear up quick, but find a guild, ask them for a favor and promise to summon them whenever they need it, and you’ll probably be helped out.

Bro you’re a clown. No one is going to do a raid without some type of loot distribution addon. Go run one urself. It’s miserable to do MS/OS or an SR run without add-ons. Also post on ur main so we can see if u truly need add-ons. Most of these anti addon people die to standing in the fire on mag.

Damn, people actually use Gearscore out there? That’s rough.
