This is objectively not true lol. It makes the game literally pay to win. Once again if Blizzard made the change and realized that the gold buying didn’t change. Why isn’t GDKP back? It’s obvious that it did have an impact, even if not large.
The impact is they can see all the gold selling and bots logs easier, and then not ban them. That’s literally it. It got rid of a bunch of gold trades.
Bro if I have to farm gold(dailies or otherwise) to get loot then F this game, especially on seasonal content. I don’t want to play a game that feels like a quasi job which I know is peak wow-brain for a lot of people. GDKP is stupid and if you didn’t get loot in an earlier raid(especially on Kazzak where most of the loot is gigatrash anyways) or if you’re guild doesn’t want to do it for you then oh well.
I started playing right before the end of P4, I saw 1 Empyrean Demolisher that the other warrior in my guild raid got. That guild then quit to play retail 2 weeks later…
Oh no, you’d have to do 2 weeks of dailies before coasting through the rest of the game on gold earned from GDKP’s, the horror.
Also you ranked, the amount of time you’ve spent ranking at any point in SoD is less than the amount of time you’d have spent farming if you could just do GDKP’s…
Not advocating for gdkp at all but you’d be surprised how much loot you can win over time while never having to farm gold again. Eventually you will pray for someone with a credit card joins.
When my friends quit in classic 2019, I grudgingly joined pug gdkps with no money. Walked away with more than I’d ever make grinding. Then I was either able to bid up items that I wanted and even if I didn’t win, I’d still walk away with hefty gold. It felt faster to gear up in a gdkp in the long run. Plus I wasn’t salty when a person who was practically afk won something because they were basically paying for a carry.
Having said that, still not advocating for it. I do think it has a negative impact on the community side of things.
You don’t farm gold - you just don’t expect to win gear the first couple of lockouts (which with rngesus at play, can happen in a roll system), and find those with deep pockets, bid up whatever they are bidding on, and take it to the bank.
Again, not advocating, there are reasons to not want gdkp in the game but loot and gold is surprisingly not one of them.
This is 100% true, if you are advocating for GDKP because of the ability to get gold from raiding so you cover your consumes GDKP is an amazing thing for the game. What you are doing though is sacrificing core aspects of what makes classic, well classic.
That sucks, for me, this happened for Azuregos and Crystal Adorned Crown. After P5 began I HR’d it for 5 resets, it eventually dropped and I won it. You could have done the same thing, or at least gotten some guildies to help you out. My guild never saw it. Then after that, I hosted more Azuregos with another healer in my guild so she could get Crown. Most of our healers now have crowns because of the ability to HR a piece a piece of gear.
My point here is that GDKPs are like chocolate bars. They may taste really good, but in reality, they aren’t healthy for your body (or in our case, the integrity of the game).
I could run my own pug, but that involves running a pug which I’m not going to do. I’ve had enough awful experiences with the average wow player in MS/OS and SR pugs. I’m good. 0 people in my guild are interested, we don’t even clear MC anymore besides Garr Geddon for bindings.
So as it stands, my only way to see bosses that I still need loot from is a pug, with no guarantee that the group can clear the raid, people still struggle with heat 1 and people will leave at the first sign of trouble.
The only thing I’m seeing the GDKP ban actually affect is the ability to form quality groups that can clear content without turning an hour long raid into a 2-3 hour nightmare.
What spec do you play? The fury BiS according to Wowhead is CTS and Edge of Chaos, then the tanking BiS is Thunderfury followed up by Flashrend.
Crul is only ahead if you don’t care about parsing, Emp demo still wins because the proc has no ICD and you want to stack it with the gnomer helmet.
That is the good thing about GDKP. It distributes the gold and after a run or two you will most likely have the gold to buy pieces.
So the reason you are going for this weapon is because you want to potentially get a lucky proc session on a fight? I mean I get it for parsing, I used to care about them big time when I played a fury warrior in 2018. At this point it probably doesn’t matter a whole lot because in a month or so with AQ I’d have to see that not being BiS anymore.
Also your issue stems from Kazzak literally having no good loot besides that weapon, I call that bad game design lol. Healer ring isn’t bad from that boss, but it is a situation where if you were to even HR the thing it would be very hard to build a team. I get the scenario.
Vs in my scenario a LOT of people still wanted Azuregos for the Puissant Cape.
I’m sure they’ll find some way to make me not care about AQ loot. Just like they did my BWL tier.
And yeah, I’ve seen Kazz drop that garbage staff like 7 times and the mace once. Maybe they should put it on the reals vendor for like 1k reals.
This is another issue in the game, with P5 and tier bracers it brought back reals farming for a grand total of 1 week lol. Then the game basically went back to very minimal amounts of dungeon runs. We need more incentive consistently throughout the phase imo.
gdkp’s are far superior the only cop out excuse people keep making is they are all rmt which is not true and if blizzard focused on rmt/botting then this excuse wouldn’t even exist.
Simple solution to all the anti gdkp people that they have no answer to is make a server for gdkp’s and a server without we already know which one is going to be more popular ![]()
That way you can’t complain about them since they have no impact on you or the server you play on.
Win win for everyone.
It’s all trash compared to gdkp. The majority of the wow community has made gdkp the loot system of choice long ago and before sod evem dropped
Gdkps drive inflation. If you dont run them you fall behind. This is the only reason the plague of gdkps have taken over other versions. Because if you dont do them, you can no longer afford consumes / gear.
Notice how casual sod is. 1g mongooses. Was 7g this time last classic.
The only people that want gdkps back are the people that either dont want to play the game to farm gold, or want to sell the gold.
??? Incursions, Eruption dailies, Real boxes that give end game mats, Alch specs proccing extra potions…
Are you stupid?
Wow that’s insane that making it a total joke to obtain end game materials and produce large quantities of consumables would keep prices down. Who could have seen this coming?
Oh and the unchecked botting, can’t forget that. ![]()
Just don’t join them? It’s BS to try and prevent other people from running them if they want to.
There’s currently 3 other non-seasonal versions of the game where they are allowed. Knock yourself out.
