Blizzard absolutely needs to step in and forbid GDKPs. The raw gold they call for and distribute encourages RMT, which in turn encourages botting.
GDKP has become the sole outlet for gearing alts. Granted it could be argued that they are late to the party, a new player hitting 60 today has no way to obtain gear allowing him or her to experience the current end game. Finding guilds still running earlier raids is like looking for a needle in a haystack.
Gold buying is the worst-kept secret of Classic WoW, and Blizzard isn’t treating the symptoms of this disease. They must forbid GDKPs going into Classic TBC.

Blizzard should forbid players from trading gold for (BoP) items because of course a well-considered idea such as this will be effectively implemented and enforced.

No, they don’t. And they won’t.
GDKP is a perfectly legitimate way to handle loot distribution. The real problem is gold buyers and gold sellers.

This. In a well managed game that actually punishes cheaters GDKP is while morally reprehensible, works fine.
Many times have I watched someone in greens (not even 60) come in and vacuum up all of the gear. Dropping 2-5k like it is nothing.
People who have the gear like it because its easy gold. Gold is annoying to get otherwise because of the overpopulated maps for farming, and endless wave of bots picking everything or script farming dungeons.
It’s a mess.

Odd way to spell Gold Buyer

Yeah how they gonna do that?
Na blizz I was trading him 10k for a cloth shirt cause it was crafted by Gucchi. He gave me the epic loot via loot council.

Do SR runs, or better yet, get on your alt, invite some friends, and make your own SR raid.
GDKP itself isnt the problem, it is instead a symptom of a much worse root problem

There was no GDKP on the 1:1 pservers because of the rmt involved in buying raid items, miss playing on servers with integrity.

This isn’t true. Soft res runs are incredibly common.

I originally thought it was bad how extreme gold sellers had distorted the economy but then I tried retail where Blizzard has basically been taking their place and $20 nets you effectively 100,000g+

It’s half price from trusted third party sellers, so they haven’t exactly cornered the market.
…which is?
…whut?
Participating in a GDKP isn’t some mortal sin. I’ve run GDKPs since Wrath of the Lich King, selling ICC10 and ICC25 runs for both Achievements (to get the mount) and for loot. My alts were all Tanks, capable of doing all the instance and leading the run, so I got to have fun doing the thing I loved while getting paid and others got to try to outbid each other for very good loot.
So seriously…
In what way, shape, or form is GDKP some matter of MORALITY

Morality is a personal thing. I think buying gear is immoral (provided it’s not crafted ofc) Just because you disagree with me doesn’t make me wrong, or you wrong either.

Because some strange people get upset and say you didnt deserve those pixels cause you didnt earn them x, y, or z ways.
They feel like you cheated by taking a shortcut and that you should feel like that diminishes your pixels.
Theyre wierd af and very annoying as a crowd
