theyd rather oppressively enforce players trading each other gold in an amazing loot system that increases the longevity of the game than they would to oppressively enforce banning players completely who buy gold.
of course some people want items… but if only 10 people need loot good luck just forming a group for MC with those 10 people in blues… Thats where you incentivize the 30 other people to come so the raid still gets ran and the 10 people who do need loot can actually kill the bosses to get it… duh?
That’s amazing, only 1/4th of the players want any items from raids and somehow they have enough gold to make it worth the while of the other 3/4ths of the players on the server.

The less people you wanna use, the more it seems like maybe the people who want gear can just form a raid and get items.
Also, why do all these players who need no items want so much gold? There’s nothing to spend it on after you do 1 Naxx and can afford consumes for 4 months straight.
thats easy. They make another character where they can funnel it lots of gold for items while leveling and enchants. No brainer… Oh and guess what? If lots of people are doing this then the world stays alive with people leveling and forming groups! YAY GDKP AGAIN!

Ok, thanks. I still don’t get it, but I don’t raid in classic so I haven’t experienced it.
pretending like the fact that GDKP isn’t keeping the endgame content active and actually gives all players hope while leveling that their time spent playing the game will not be a waste of time because once they do reach max level they will actually be able to find groups for the content they want to do.
believing the world of azeroth is thriving and active is not a trivial thing when pertaining to peoples incentive to play at all.

Era is running because there was a huge demand for Era. It’s not continued to be this big because of GDKPs. The way you’re framing it is that the only reason Era is still alive is GDKPs.

I could say that era is dead right now with less than 10k people logged per week and only gdkps being ran and it would make sense to anyone that’s playing an actual lively popular queue system game

I don’t only run GDKP… But I do recognize the influence GDKP has on keeping endgame alive which in turn keeps the rest of the game alive due to the fact people know their characters can experience endgame

The GDKP argument is over and done. Blizzard has all the metrics. If you believe that Blizz is all about the bottom line, then the GDKP ban, and by extension, the loss of that player base is not enough to impact their bottom line. Case closed. Time to join a guild and be a part of the community.
