Thanks! Your character is really pretty btw.
I should make one but I gotta figure out how tomorrow with the changes lol. Void Elves are cute but are they Alliance or Horde?

Morning everyone. So, what’s going on with the prepatch exactly? Gear to catch us up for Shadowlands or what?

“Alliance. My main is Horde, though. She is a Forsaken.”

Nope. You shouldn’t need to do heroics. Check out the Call to Arms board in the nearest city and it should give you the ability to pick up the feeder quest for WoD. That or you can port to Orgrimmar or check under the adventurer’s guide for the feeder quest.

As for heroics, only a goon would yell at someone for goofing up a heroic. If someone does yell at you for such a trivial thing, that’s them being an idiot.

And Void Elves are Alliance. Really though, if you’re going to go Alliance, roll one of the only two races that matter and who, realistically speaking, should collectively give the Alliance the finger and break off into their own splinter faction: Gnome or Night Elf. We have angst, sexy dance parties, and eat bears.

ooo the bear burgers are ready

Ironic then, that you post on your Alliance toon. You are literally forsaking your Forsaken!

We have Forsaken Elves? I had no idea lol. WoW just has so much stuff that I do look up stuff but I don’t know how to read so it takes forever lol.

But thanks for the help Elmer. I have anxiety sometimes when I’m healing new stuff (healer main) so I really don’t want people to die because of me lol. I feel like I failed them. It’s hard to explain but I really love healing. I just DPS sometimes to also see how the healer goes through stuff to give me an idea and if they suffer then maybe it’s normal lol.

I used to feel this way more than once

You have my respect. Healing is the one thing I cannot do and outright refuse lol. Depending on the class you’re healing with, ask around. Surfy is an AMAZING priest healer (I know from experience) and might be willing to help out in that regard.

DPSing is also fun and my primary focus. A lot more leeway and you catch a lot less flack LOL.

And don’t forget, tomorrow will change things with pre-patch going live so what you do today may not necessarily be what you do tomorrow.

Whatever you do, run with it and have fun (although it’s infinitely more fun to do as a Gnome. Have you seen our rather overly dramatic dying animation? BRILLIANT!)

Shadowlands will be the first expansion where I am going to try Restoration as my main specialization as much as possible. I have had some RL friends and in-game friends give me lots of pointers, so I am feeling more confident in my choice.

I mostly Tank or DPS, so switching to Healing is going to be a learning experience. It’s actually quite funny because I often play the support roles in other games, or at least have abilities that let me be off-support when needed. WoW is one of the few games where I just never truly clicked with healing.

Restoration is a beautiful specialization though, and I like the Heals over Time mechanics with emergency abilities to bring someone up to speed or cover party-wide damage. I wish you the best of luck, Heisuke!

That’s the beauty of the game, new troll buddy. Unlike FF14 (I think you came from there IIRC), there’s a lot more flexibility in classes and specs and even if you aren’t “pro”, that’s fine. You have a lot of time to figure it all out.

Don’t rush yourself. Find what works for you and build from there.

Ooh. I didn’t even think of this (I can be a doofus sometimes): if you want to heal, try starting a new character tomorrow on Exile’s Reach.

It sounds to me as if you have a lot of the basics and even more down pat but you might find a few more tips and tricks that way. Plus, with the increase in leveling speed, you may catch up faster than you realize.

That or do what I did. Go Beast Mastery hunter and give Hordes (or Alliance) and other bad guys lots and lots of hugs…WITH BULLETS AND KITTIES!!!

For reference check out the best video ever on Hunters:

I really love Druid and it is my favorite. I never played a HoT healer before in any game so it’s feels refreshing. I also am curious about herbal medicines and stuff irl (I also took herbalism profession lol.) and astrology so the sun/moon/stars are really nice!

I’m not gonna lie, I’m very surprised you remembered that LOL. But yeah, I am. I played since the Phase 3 beta of ARR. I like both games, like WoW more (odd right?) tbh. I’m actually out my zone of stuff I like. I like anime, JRPG’s and stuff like that. I mean, this game has Panda’s lol. I like that this game has a lot of lore, characters, races, classes, crafting and stuff and things to do that actually seem interesting y’know? Too bad I only know so little of the lore, only up to the Arthas guy and the Lich King stuff. Feelsbadman. Also I’m very high right now so if I make things that don’t make sense then sorry in advance LOL.

My first character was also a Night Elf Druid.

Seeing the sheer enormity of Teldrassil for the first time, meeting Tyrande and later Malfurion, visiting Moonglade, etc… It cemented the Druid class and Night Elf race for me in WoW. Absolutely breathtaking.

I am often drawn to more Nature-themed classes in video games, such as the Hunter or Shaman, so Druid was a natural fit. Soaring through the clouds as an owl, prowling the jungle as a panther, swimming in the deepest parts of the ocean as a sea lion - it’s mesmerizing, awe-inspiring, and brings me a wondrous joy unmatched by any other class in the game.

Plus being able to pick herbs and interact with objects/NPCs in travel form is a huge bonus.
