There once was a Crooked Man who lived in a Crooked House who had a Crooked Family and was offed by a Crooked Brat who he forbade from doing Ballet.
I am referring to the Crooked House Novel by Agatha Christie of course.
The Crooked Brat honestly would have been exposed sooner if Charles decided to be funny and called her one of the suspects to her face. The fear in her expression would have given her away to his mind and if she subsequently decided to beat him to death with the nearest blunt weapon she’d be officially exposed to the police and public very quickly.
