if you want to do both as in bc and classic you will need to do the paid option otherwise you will need to make a choice
Once you pick your era you are locked into that expansion and you need to pay the 15 dollar fee to clone them to play in both.
If it makes you feel any better, they originally wanted 30$ for it lmao
Originally it was $35 …per character.
hmm I actually wonder if it still says the original price on the support article lol.
Edit: Nevermind the article doesn’t talk about the price, just the service. I thought it would.
If I loose intrest in Shadowlands, I might start a character in TBC in a RP server. I’ll RP as an blood elf, orc and undead.
Worry when the contents amount to “Just checking…” as opposed to “Being prepared.”
Ooooh… a mailer with a big picture of Illidan yelling “You are not prepared!” Then saying “Check with Chucko, Bozo and Smith to get prepared.”
I don’t want to be prepared if Illidan is selling that kind of stuff. Just stay in and keep him banging on my door telling me I am not prepared.
“Okay… Now I am confused AGAIN!!! Can my Classic Main, go through the Portal, play in Outland, and come back to Old Content, for free or NOT??? I want to play both, but NOT if it’s gonna cost me an extra 15. Can my Classic Main play BOTH for free, or NOT???”
If you move to TBC. She would just be in the expansion, you would be able to do all the old world content with no problem and level to 60 in the old world. You will also be able to move on through the portal, once she is level 58.
I you stay in classic, the going through the portal will not be an option for you at level 58, or ever.
If you choose to pay $15 and have her on both TBC and classic, you will have to level her on each to get her to 60, and only the TBC character will progress past level 60.
I linked the article that talks about cloning. It is a bit further up in the GD thread.
But TBC comes will all of classic’s content just on a different patch. It even has some extra classic content. So once you head through the dark portal it isn’t a one way trip. (But ya if you are still confused check the official article I linked on how cloning works for how Blizzard explains it)
“I checked the Article, it didn’t help me. It talks in circles.”
“Can my Classic Main play in both for free? Will my Guild be affected? What if my Guild Members stay in Classic, and my Main, the Guild Leader moves forward? I have so many questions, I don’t even know where to start.”
If you move to TBC, you can go to Outland, and go back and do older content, you do not have to pay to go back and forth from the portal to Eastern Kingdoms, or wherever.
If you stay in classic, you will only level to 60, and not option of future expansions or any option to go to Outland.
You only have to pay $15 if you for example pick classic only, then later decide you wish you would have picked TBC so you can go through the portal and play Outland, or level to 70. If you choose to then activate the TBC character, the character will be released to you.
This new active character will be what ever level you left off at at the launch of TBC, nothing you do on the classic character will have any difference to this. One character basically becomes two characters at the launch, and you decide which to play.
There is also a thread in TBC forums that I don’t exactly want to link here as it will bring a lot of trolls here but I can double check the name and get back here. It is a purely support oriented thread, just put the name up so people can search for it.
Clone Support Page Information: That is the thread topic name.
(I also deleted the post that had the wrong info)
Classic guilds will be disbanded, even if you are a guild leader that chooses to stay in Classic, you will have to restart your guild, all guilds automatically move to TBC.
“Wait a minute… If I move forward, and my Guild Members don’t, they will be kicked from the guild?”
“No matter what I chose, I will HAVE to REBUILD my GUILD??? I am gonna LOSE THE COOKIE CORNER NO MATTER WHAT?!?!?!?”
From what it sounds like Classic guilds are automatically going to be disbanded so even if you stay back in classic you will have to reform your guild.
Classic characters are auto kicked from all guild, all guilds have to be restarted in classic…
Let me find that Blizzard article real quick…
“I QUIT CLASSIC!!! I did NOT build a Guild JUST TO LOSE IT!!! I HATE BLIZZARD!!!”
