“Black Diamond or Hematite? I knew Black Pearls were tricky, but White Pearls too?”
i think white pearls might only be bad luck for wedding days
“Thanks. This helps a lot. If I run across a stone, or crystal I am not sure of, I will ask you. Thanks again.”

i’m just dragging all the info from google… about the only thing i know about gemstones, is they’re pretty.
google seems to be very consistent with the info though… it’s not a case of one site says one thing, and another says something else.
they all seem to be in agreement with each other.
i watch an opal cutting guy on youtube, it’s very educational.
he has a cat named Paco, and a model bust named Sheila, and i love his sense of humor
“I prefer my Stones and Gems uncut.”
well if you’re bored and want something to watch, it’s more than just a dude polishing and shaping. it’s quite educational, but i just thought i’d throw it out there because i’ve been watching him for a few years now.
there doesn’t seem to be a lot of gemstone or geology stuff on youtube.
(or i’m just bad at finding it!)
anyhoo, i got distracted, it’s way past tablet time!
enjoy your day
“Enjoy, and we’ll chat later.”

I read it further and it cuts you off near the end and wants you to sign up so never mind.
Ugh I am tired. I have been working on a new growing idea. Someone get some growing cookies to try and help them out of a sticky situation but things go wrong.
Everything someone will ever want or need in regards to everything esoteric. This website is golden. Massive amount of information.

This is cool. I’m inclined to read a lot about the Sufis (Rumi, Attar, etc.) and Zen Buddhism. They are great reality checks and humble inducers when I think I’m starting to understand.
Hinduism top of list for me followed very closely by The Hermetic Philosophy - which is the foundation of Alchemy. A really good book that is kind of a summary of the Hermetic Philosophy is a book called The Kybalion. Amazing book that’s in that website.
These days, I’m looking for the interconnectedness of all the traditions and I’m finding that if you compare the guts, most traditions are very similar under the hood.
With regards to Hinduism, my focus is mostly on Yoga. All the various schools, but mainly Kundalini yoga that I learned from a very good book back in my 20’s. It’s called Kundalini Yoga for the West.
Also Kabbalah. Studied the Sefer Yetzirah, The Zohar, and tons of commentaries on the subject.
An impressive reading list.
I do agree that at their core most religions seem remarkably similar which would make sense if we have a Creator/creation relationship. For me, a strong dose of science is also part of the mix. Though I don’t fully understand the math, I love reading and watching PBS Space Time videos about physics at the relativistic and quantum levels.
The Kabbalah is fascinating but hard to find folks who aren’t using it as a shortcut to understanding in an almost sorcerous fashion. Some of the Gnostics are also interesting to study especially as they tried to find overarching ideas for blending Greek, very early Christian and Jewish mysticism. Elaine Pagels has some great works on this.
Good yoga for the mind.
“The best book, I ever read on this whole thing, is The Urantia Book.”
Not an almost sorcerous fashion, Kabbalah is the foundation for all Western Occultism. I actually found out about Kabbalah from studying The Golden Dawn which was a magical order. So it can and is used for occult things. The Tarot is Kabbalah for example with the Major Arcana being the Paths on the Tree of life and the Minor Arcana being the Sefirot.
And yes, science HAS TO be involved in it to erase bullsh*t.
I remember a lot of people I knew in the 70’s really being into it but had forgotten about it until your mention. Ugh, one more thing to add to the list.
I am not that religious so I don’t know any of this. I will talk to everyone later. I am going to get some exercise in and watch some videos’ for the night.
I stopped being so curious whrn I learned that words and knowledge can do lasting harm to the person learning without wisdom and foreknowledge… I dunno. Islam messed me up for a while.

“You may appreciate the balance that The Urantia teaches about.”
Wikipedia says the Kabbalah stresses that the 10 Sephirot are merely 10 mortal perceptions of God… Of course since as Kabbalah states God is infinite I would presume the 10 Sephirot are how many perceptions the Kabbalists found in society at the time!
