GD: [Feedback] Hearthstone 10 year anniversary event

I know there’s other threads but I’d like to create a thread for the GD, so we can provide further feedback to CC members and Devs.

I wonder why this event follow the bad learnings from Diablo and other world events?

Its like so many events in the game, love is in the air…etc on which there’s not a good gameplay involve, because bosses die to fast, there’s latency…etc

Do you know which was a better event? Or at least I remember that one better, correct me if I’m wrong.

WoW: 15th Anniversary Event! - Memories of Fel, Frost and Fire

(I can’t post URL  )

It was an instance event with old bosses and their mechanics, you notice a fight, something besides the lag and it provided a bit of challenge like any LFR but still really easy.

I just notice Patches and Dr.Boom but I didn’t notice any mechanic at all besides my FPS dropping and a lot of AOE…Then pick your reward…

I’d prefer a deterministic questline with an instance content…etc that this LAG Fest + RNG , that it seems like the only solution in Devs mind.

I think the biggest issue is that they didn’t learn or simply didn’t care to do so from the first iteration despite the feedback they were given then. It is also pretty buggy at times, which doesn’t help.

Continuing the discussion from [Feedback] Hearthstone 10 year anniversary event:

Trueee, I’d prefer something like the 15th anniversary with an achievement and an actual LFR style fight, that players repeatead for catch up gear and a % of mounts like Invincible, Alar…etc but the main reward was 100% determinisitc.

Devs forgot what’s fun…and how to reward players, last events are pure fustrating grinds.

I should be excited to log into warcraft this week. Not annoyed. Even if i spend less time doing the event, isnt that worth a more positive experience?

I was excited waiting for this event, something new…I was at work reading that it was a lag fest with bad RNG…I tried the event and log out, I’ll do it later during working from home but its just a boring lobby room for a 3mins lag fest…Devs really now how to create something fun.

Locking time-limited items behind low RNG is miserable. The best thing about it is the sigh of bitter relief when the item I want drops. It’s not fun or exciting. Camping in SW or Valdrakken while alt-tabbed waiting for the portal to spawn is not enjoyable.

So honest feedback.

Pros:
36 slot bag, new mount, mog, pet, and toys.

The hearthstone boards are fun. Makes me wish they could tweak them in the future to act as a login portal for my hearthstone account and it opens a little window to play against whoever’s sitting in front of me.

The mini event that plays out with the gnome and the mobs is pretty cool.
**EDIT2:**Spawning the boss at all three spots at once per community feedback.

Cons:
Fomo event
DST meant the event started an hour late
We have a possible 8 hour maintenance tomorrow (shorter than expected ty)
Bugged initial spawning rotation
Bug later started spawning only in stormwind
location of SW event is a PVP trap for horde
tag lag during boss encounter prevented looting in some cases
lag in general for some people more than others
rng of items dropping (though better than love rocket by a lot)
EDIT1: originally today after maintenance I’ve tagged and killed the boss twice and nothing to loot.

That about sums up everything I have.

This event SUCKS! You put it in SW out of ALL places, forcing us to get flagged, we die without being able to even tag the damn boss and have an hour long run back, or rez sickness and flying back to get 1 shotted.

instanced community events take people out of the world and do not foster community. the fps issues might be a hardware issue on your end are you running modern hard ware? deterministic items hurt the game in the long run. it makes them easier to get and lowers their value

They can also foster community interaction by spreading them out a bit, too. There shouldn’t be THIS many people at any given spawn. All of them should be active at once. This cycle was a bad idea during the Diablo event. That hasn’t changed with a not-so-fresh coat of paint.

I for one am fortunte that Blizzard gave me a mount for free.

events like this and the diablo one are good for the game and they should continue to do them

Regardless of one’s stance, there is room for improvement. That is my point.

they have a working formula and should stay with it. the event is a hit

It’s clearly not working, or there wouldn’t be so many issues.

what issues are you having?

Are you really that oblivious? Look around you.
