Is there any plans the gcd will be changed in anyway, for the better, in the new X-pac?
I feel like the developers think I’m too stupid too manage my abilities without the gcd.

This might surpise you…but the GCD has nothing to do with what the developers think of your intelligence
And no, they haven’t mentioned any GCD changes
The GCD is there for balancing and combat pacing, not because of your personal IQ.
Blizzard doesn’t want people macroing a tonne of abilities together, which is what has happened in the past with different GCD rules.
Puts on tin foil hat
AOE cap was made for the same reason GCD change will be implemented. WOW will be ported to console.
Im pretty sure the GCD being removed wouldn’t increase your IQ either if that’s what you’re thinking
And has gcd achieved its goal?
Yes, the GCD has existed for as long as I’ve been playing the game. It works. Quite well in fact. Combat pacing is excellent. Play FFXIV for a few days and you’ll notice the difference.
Without GCD you don’t actually manage your cooldown, you macro them up to a single button.
Thats some brand named foil.
/nods in approval
Mage shields need to come off the primary GCD.
Can’t you still do this with the /castlist thing or summat like that, or was that removed also?
GCD is fine as is, all the abilities that had been put on the GCD have since been removed over the duration of BfA and SL.
If people still think there is a GCD issue then unfortunately I would attribute it to not fully understanding the role of the GCD and how it works.
AoE cap was never “made” it was a feature of the game for over 13 years.
The developers broke it during Legion when they took a hammer to all of the classes/specs and had to redesign them from the ground up.
Changing how AoE worked was something I don’t even believe was intended and contributed to a bunch of issues especially around how quickly classes could deal their AoE damage.
i think gcd is a must but too much stuff is on it.
tweaks could be made here and there.
The current GCD is too long IMO. At the very least I think it needs to drop about 0.5 seconds.
And I think that offensive, defensive, CC, and CC breaks need to be on their own GCD and not the same one.
On some of my classes I have to stop using skills when I know a certain interruptible cast is coming up because my interrupt is on the same GCD a s my DPS skills/abilities. It is terrible to lose DPS just to interrupt instead of having it on its own GCD and being able to continue to DPS.
without the gcd youd be playing piano with your keyboard. slamming your keyboard face down onto your desk would be the optimal rotation.
try monk, it’s got 1sec gcd without any haste investment. i thought it was pretty cool but other things turned me down from it.
I have a Monk but haven’t played it in over a year. Guess I’ll go back and try it out again.
Thanks.
Get some more haste friend
If we are being realistic we will never see a drop to the base GCD, take Elemental Shaman as an example, they (somewhat recently) had a major dps cooldown nerfed because they spell cast reduction was so high players were complaining about the effect it had on their hands trying to keep up with the speed of the casts.
As such they both capped the ability at half of the original benefit, and added an option to reset stacks to remove the hasted benefit.
Can you give an example of class? All classes except Priest Silence (which isn’t technically an interrupt) should have their interrupt skill off the GCD.
The 1s GCD of energy classes is not modifiable with haste though is it?
Whereas others with the standard 1.5s can go down to 0.75s with haste.
