He paid the toll?! What kind of Trade Prince pays a toll? What kind of Horde leader pays a toll?
The Horde Council really gives off Star Wars New Republic vibes in how afraid they are to flex even the slightest amount of power. But at least in the New Republic’s case it was supposed to look bad. It was an overcorrection of the Empire. This seems to be the same case except the writers want us to think it’s a good thing.
The Horde is one of the two greatest superpowers on Azeroth! People should be afraid of getting on our bad side.
Gazlowe admires the chutzpah needed to throw up a toll booth at a new passage faster than a mushroom after the spring rain.
Respect the grift.
Somehow I knew Chenghen would find a way to whine about this patch filled with goblin rep.
The entire point of the initial part of the quest chain was to figure out what was going on without Gallywix hearing Gazlowe was snooping around. Him flexing any power he might have (which, really, what power in that situation, us?) would have had a bunch of people scampering to Gallywix and would have impeded stopping the black blood operations.
Goblins generally prefer mercantile to violent solutions. They’ll definitely sabotage and cheat and double cross, and even beat down a rival, but their entire culture is based around trade, be it for coin or favours. A goblin who consistently uses violence and just tries taking things from other goblins, instead of making deals, is one that eventually gets thrown under the bus. There’s nothing in Gazlowe’s characterization in the last 20 years that suggests he’s the type to not acknowledge a clever grift when it costs him nothing to do so except some change.
That’s what happened in the goblin heritage chain, Gallywix crossed that line one too many times, and caused the other cartels to unite against him.
Honestly that’s a pretty strong & accurate description of the current Horde Council and the Horde’s key-figures + leadership
Would be nice for Horde characters to express power, both in their clever wit and their potency of strength — with a decisive will to carry out their ideals and the cunning to achieve it, along with being able to evade their enemies or best them.
… Lately it feels like for the most part – they’re a bunch of incompetents
I mean don’t even get me started on Baine. lol
In Gazlowe’s defence, it may be to put up a farce.
“See? I totally play by the rules.”
{Bribes guard}
“We were never here.”
They are the Horde. They don’t do that. Only people allowed to show power are alliance leaders.
Garrosh did it! … Before he, uh … became an enemy
… But Sylvanas did it too! … Hmm, before she ALSO became an enemy
Dangit!
Remember when Jaina wiped the floor with the Jailer while Thrall was wounded lying on the ground? I remember.
… Oh but we at least have Iridikron wh — wait no, he’s not Horde – Nevermind
lol
He’d be a dope af Warchief though.
Resolute. Strong willed. Powerful. Cunning. Decisive. Tells people to stay out of his way in his pursuit of achieving their ideals … Perfect fit.
Given that we were trying to enter in without alerting any of Gallywix’s goons, why would you intentionally cause trouble instead of you know… keeping a low profile and pay the toll?
This post is something that Erevien would do. Don’t lower yourself to their level.
I swear, I think it is the same person using alts.
I just find it weird that the first complaint is basically They didn’t murder everyone in sight and charge in guns blazing
Like…uhh…okay? Real psycho behavior if you ask me
so instead they have to roll over for what ever belly pats people will give them? there is alot of room between letting someone run you over and genocide. just saying
Imagine sneaking in so Gallywix doesn’t know we’re there and send his goons after us is seen as a bad thing
Come back when you have an actual serious response
or maybe be the freaking horde at let people remember why you are a power in the world. every expansion lately is the same thing. oh we have these giant forces but lets sneak around with our heroes instead.
When a fictional character is smarter than the people posting on this forum
I am sorry but you cant be serious with this, these threads are getting absurd.
One might think that at a glance but in reality, its about 6 or 7 people who are just clearly never going to be happy playing this game…
Kinda sucks that these are the only topics that will get any traction here and the rest of the threads will fade into obscurity.
Shows me that they would suck in actual warfare. You don’t send an army in without any intelligence of their oppositions size, weaponry, their backing and if there is a resistance to help out to gain more troops.
Bunch of cavemen going ungo bungo in this thread. “Me horde, me squash bug”. So dumb.
I’m just tired of the arguing about the same three subjects with the same five people who keep bringing them up. Who than get mad when you don’t agree with them. It’s gotten soo old.
I know… really wish mods would stear this place to be more productive but lets face it, when’s the last time the story forms even had a blue post?
