Gathering/Crafting "mog" problems

I am fully in favor of the appearance updates giving us crafting"mogs". It’s really cool … except that now I am running around with a mining pick or blacksmith hammer or fishing pole in my hand 90% of the time. I want to see my weapons when not crafting … not the crafting/gathering gear. The only time i can get my weapons back is by going into combat. Am I missing something or is this working as intended?

It’s working as intended…as in designed to work in the modern day with no respect to the design, vision, features, or implementation during its inception.

With fishing and the ‘Underlight Angler’, the problems are more than visual annoyances.

You have to cast fishing to get the passives of the pole to apply, and you cant do that when you’re in/underwater. It’s supposed to give you water walking when above water, and transform you into a fish when underwater, but…you cant cast fishing while underwater.

So (IMO) this leads to a tediously annoying ****show, where if walking on water and fishing, and something attacks you, your water walking is disabled, and you dont transform into a fish…Then, you either swim (without transformation) to land or engage and kill the mob. But even after you engage and kill the mob, you have to GET OUT OF THE WATER AND ON LAND, before you can recast fishing to re-apply water walking…

It’s stupid. The easiest fix is to remove “Fishing poles” from the professions slots and just have those slots apply to fishing gear (Hats, Boots, Bobbers, etc)…
