For midnight i have the early access. I have 2 accounts and am thinking of pairing my gatherer with my main in a group to lvl both at same time. I don’t want to multibox. So the question is if i make my main herbing as well and there is a herb, can both get the herb so as to double up or can only 1 toon get it
that is multiboxing. multiboxing doesn’t mean “using software to mirror actions from one window to another”, which is banned under the ToS, it just means ‘one user playing multiple accounts simultaneously’. As long as you’re doing it completely manually, alt+tabbing between windows and clicking on herbs with both characters, then it’s fine.
yes, all herb and ore nodes can be “tapped” by multiple people (including people not in a party with you). they despawn a certain amount of time after the first person gathers from them, so you absolutely can herb with two characters.
i would however warn you that players are very vigilent against bots, and bots often use dual gatherers because it’s efficient, so you might get a lot of flack from the playerbase including people reporting you as a bot. this can cause a temporary “squelch” effect which will render your characters unable to talk in chat until a gm can review the logs and confirm it’s a baseless accusation.
be aware that if you have ANY automation software running on your pc, even if you don’t use it for wow (like workplace productivity trackers), blizzard’s anticheat software might flag this and ban you.
