Blizzard needs to buff this gathering stat because it is so worthless and not worth it compared to Finesse. As someone that has been gathering mining nodes since release, Perception is garbage. And why is it so trash? Because for the rare times that it does proc, all you get is… 1 additional Null Stone. That’s it. Compared to Finesse, which somehow procs way more often than Perception, there is not a net gain to having more in it because Finesse can give you more level 3 reagents. As if it is Bismuth? That is good profit. I did an experiment with the highest grade pickaxe with either stat maxed out with enchants as well and Finesse 100% comes out on top for proc chance and profit gained. It is really sad because Perception sounds like a great concept, yay you get more rare items, but just ONE additional Null Stone? Come on, that sucks!
The market for mats has tanked and nothing will make it worth the time invested to do gathering professions right now. It was good while it lasted but it fell and it fell hard.
We have the bots to thank for that. The amount of druid bots I see is insane.
The WoW economy sucks. We’ll see if they actually implement housing properly - if they do, there will be a huge new demand for mats that should make just about everyone happier.
Good I’m sick of paying 3k gold + for R2 gems, enchants and consumables. I dont like bots but I dislike the gold goblins who use them along with their mains to manipulate the economy even more.
You should love bots then. If it’s the players who spend their time farming then prices should be reasonable so the players can make gold and people have access to reasonably priced mats.
Those enchants don’t make themselves and put themselves on the ah for you to purchase cheaply. An enchanter spent time and resources to level up enchanting, source mats, and then create the enchants. You should expect to pay them fairly for that. Nobody owes you enchants for next to nothing.
That’s thanks to bots. To a lesser extent it’s the way of things after the first few months of an expansion but mostly it’s because of bots. So enjoy your cheap bot farmed ah goods. Because most players like me aren’t bothering to farm anymore. It’s not worth our time.
