Gates of the Damned not completable in a party

I tried to do the Korthia campaign quest Gates of the Damned tonight with a friend. We were both on the same step of the campaign and had the quest.

If one of us clicked on a death gate, it became non-interactable for both of us, but only the player who clicked on it got quest credit.

We tried waiting to see if it would refresh, we tried dropping group, we tried logging out and back in. We tried one of us abandoning the quest. Nothing worked.

The only solution was for both of us to drop the quest, and then one of us to start over. i.e. Only one of us could do the quest. The other of us just had to do it alone, later.

Confirmed. Only one person in a party can complete, and that is only if they do all 4 gates. Dropping quest and redoing solo does lead to completion.

Confirming this is still bugged.

Its so disappointing to see so many of these quests break in parties. The amount of quests that either break or fail to display story and dialogue to more than 1 person in the party is getting increasingly frustrating. The fact stuff like this has been broken as far back as MoP (when I remember it starting to become more obvious) is just confusing, I’d love to know how the QA happens when this slips through so often, its as if the QA don’t test in parties at all?

Same here, very annoying. It is bad enough that story quests are gated in elite zones but then to make it so you can’t complete it in a group is ridiculous!

Would also like to report the same exact issue. Extremely frustrating to have to go back and redo this all over again.

Friend and I found the same thing. We ungrouped and both dropped the quest, then ran around together, but still had to do that part twice. Once that was done, re-grouped, and completed the rest of the quest line.
