Gaslighting playerbase into thinking forums matter

Seems only fair. You need vetted people not trolls like me on there.

I leave…or try to leave my seriousness at work. And I find it hilariously hard not to roll my eyes hard at all the posts by angry people.

I’m sure any Blizzard employee is more like…ok I’m on the clock to find a bug, get honest feedback, etc.

What’s more effective and efficient? Surely not these echo chambers. Although, I thought getting trust levels would kinda sort it all-out.

I said I’d never get trust 3 because of my past actions. Yet, here I am and at best just closer to the mosh pit.

Yeah, I mean I am certain they do read these forums as I recall Ysthisen’s mentioning how much of it Ion did reach. But when they need targeted feedback it makes the most sense to get it from higher-tier players.

I want to THANK whoever made this post for understanding how problematic it is for people to spread “use meta build, everything else bad” to all tiers of WoW play leading to toxic tryhardism & elitism.
I’ll main Talbadar’s and Psychic link cuz its fun!

Nice attempt on this forum post to fit your narrative as well.

Those are so much fun though. Where else am I going to use my worthless liberal arts degree.

At least Ystheins responded once. And like a professor, wrote back…the hell did I read Saan

I felt so bad I begged them to delete my thread.

In all honesty, things spiral out of control when they respond.

Better that we never know. Ion could be reading this, but any response is like the second coming of Jesus in a forum and will derail into utter chaos.

At least I can see and say hi to grumbles, gallow, leelin, and even Ralph. And many others.

So what part of having a more direct channel prevents them from reading their own forums?

No that’s not even the problem. The problem is that if the tweets are true, the feedback isn’t listened to no matter what.

We here on GD have always been here just to keep each other company anyway. That doesn’t change.

Someone no doubt keeps track of what players are discussing in the forums. But I suspect the “they” you are thinking reads the forums is not the low level employee that actually keeps track of these things.

And the fact is that the forums really don’t matter. Trying to influence player opinion by having forum discussion is a joke, since the percentage of players out there who actually visit the forums is so small, that when you think you’ve won an argument, actually you only wasted your own time while having zero affect on anyone.

Of course

I think everyone is aware of this.

Interesting now you’re pretending to concede that point when you attempted to claim the opposite above.

Pretending to concede? I agree with everything you just said, it doesn’t contradict anything I said.

Fwiw I read your post carefully and thought about what you were trying to convey to the reader. I especially liked your use of the word “ur” and may try to incorporate it into my own writing. Thanks for ur post!.

You said the forums matter, because the devs can read them.

Why are you wasting your time manning the barricades and trying to prove other players wrong as though somehow that will influence the profitability of the game?

Lol. Given the extreme lack of interaction in recent years I think its very obvious they don’t read these forums.

It’s only a bad thing for Activision because they don’t have plausible deniability anymore. The “we don’t listen to feedback because the playerbase is toxic” or whatever other excuse they had has now been shown to be a BS lie with this leak.

They know what players are thinking. They just think we’re wrong and don’t care what players want or even are willing to pay for.

The Glorious Future of WoW™ is upon us! Rejoice in the perfection of design and incorporation of RPG elements that never have existed in any RPG before! Because it’s what players deserve. That’ll show players who is boss.

Possibly. Honestly though I think there’s too much discord on these forums to ever get a coherent direction from the playerbase. Unless its just something resoundingly hated like limited Covenant abilities to Shadowlands content. I would wager they monitor Twitter, Reddit and WoWhead more than these forums.

I mean, an ex-CM said Ion reads the forums more than any other employee. You are certainly entitled not to believe it, but that doesn’t make it automatically false.

“Ion pays very close attention to the forums, so much even that he was sending CMs threads that they haven’t even seen.
If you post on forums there is very high chance that Ion seen it.”
