So did the old god possess Garrosh?

He had the corrupted version of Gorehowl which whispers to the player… So did it not whisper to Garrosh?

And he had all that purple durple stuff on him when you fight him in SoO. So was he like not in his own mind?

Thought blizzard stated that he was not possessed or influenced by the old gods.

Well he did have the heart of an old god hanging around, so its quite possible. He was certainly Sha-affected which pushed him to do all that nasty stuff, but I’d say the Old Gods may well have been involved.

I miss Garrosh (original Garrosh that is). He was a worthy foe and a total idiot :upside_down_face:

I wouldn’t say it possessed him, more just enhanced the negative traits that were already there. Garrosh went crazy long before he went to Pandaria and found the heart.

But bathing yourself in Old God blood is probably a bad idea on all accounts.

Garrosh was not corrupted all these voices whispering to him simply nourished the hate and rage that was deep inside him. The Sha are a are physical manifestations of negative emotions, so when he finally gave in to those emotions he took on a visible form of them. he knew what he was doing but at that point he no longer care and gave in.

Blizzard has hard confirmed Garrosh was never corrupted. His will dominated that of the Old Gods. He was just a super racist.

the Heart’s granted Garrosh visions of conquest. The mad Warchief also gained the ability to wield and manipulate its Void energies, infusing Malkorok with them, as well as abandoning Gorehowl in favor of a replica forged with the power of the Heart itself.

Why involve old gods if it wasn’t supposed to be seen as a corrupting influence? He could have used any magic power up at that point.
