I’m slow and stupid. I can’t process what loot I want to roll on in 5 seconds. For instance figuring out which enchanting recipes I already know, off-spec /99 rolls, etc. Is there some kind of addon where I can predetermine loot will give highlights on my screen, or even better automatically /rolls on?
Raid lead sets the gargul roll timer. It’s also on you to know what can drop and if it’s an upgrade or bis or whatever else. You shouldn’t be doing this research during the raid, do it before.
Also for enchanting recipes if you click on it or scroll over it as it’s being rolled off, you’ll see if you’ve already learned the recipe. And again, you could do this research before the raid.
gotta pay attention boomer
5 Seconds is just too fast IMO. Even 7 seconds annoys me if we’re pulling trash, especially when I’m healing.
Don’t really have advice aside from be ready to roll quickly. If a lead sets the timer so low that you can’t reasonable decide if you should roll, then roll and correct it after, that issue is the lead’s issue he created.
don’t be lazy, check out what is being dropped in that raid or dungeon before you arrive…
Not knowing if they knew a recipe within 5 seconds of rolling it out is pretty fair. 5 Seconds in general isn’t really used in Gargul, at least I haven’t seen it
I agree completely with the OP. Ask the RL to set the timer at a reasonable 10-15 seconds roll, especially if they are rolling during pulls. Otherwise roll and correct after.
In general, they should not be rolling loot during pulls anyway.
I’m not lazy. I said I’m slow and stupid. There’s a difference. You proved my point btw. Which one are you?
I’m not going to ask RL for more time. 10 seconds isn’t even enough to make the best decision. I’m looking for a way to relieve myself of this pressure and stress.
I see loot alert addons but you have to actually loot the poor creature’s carcass to get it to work to where if I’m dead loot rolls often go out before I get rezzed.
I’m thinking some kind of weakaura that detects linked loot in chat might send me an alert. Haven’t found it yet would appreciate some help.
Yes you can set this up, it’ll be a little odd but you can get Gargul, make a loot list (TMB is the way i know how to), then export it from TMB, import into Gargul in game and you’ll see your wishlisted items when you hover over them.
It will say like: “Squidgams (1)” which would mean you have it at #1 on your wishlist, which wouldn’t matter for you, you would just use it to see what you wishlisted period.
And yes, recipes work with this too.
Also with Gargul downloaded you’ll get roll popups instead of need to read and type everything.
So with this your process would indeed notify you of the roll like MS > OS would, then you just hover over the item to see if you needed it or not and roll accordingly.
Boom got it. GargulAutoRoll addon. Thanks to your idea. Cheers.
If you already know it, it will say in red “ALREADY KNOWN” on the item.
I don’t understand how this is an issue.
You write too well to be slow and stupid. Get atlas loot check the drops before the raid starts.
get the gargul addon yourself, it’s very useful even if you’re not raid lead or masterloot.
it pops up each item and you click need or greed like the default ui.
it being too fast was annoying but the least of my problem with loot, i just hate staring at the fn chat for 20min after the raid.
This is entirely under the control of the raid leader, which is frustrating. Sometimes, the raid leaders will listen when you ask for a moment, but most of the time, they will ignore your request to wait for a second.
100%—if a case is opened on your server’s Discord, it’s best to have screenshots to protect yourself. Be honest and explain that you were given only five seconds to roll and were unable to decide if you needed the item, so you rolled just in case. If you asked the raid lead to increase the timer (insert screenshot here to cover yourself), and they ignored you, that’s important to note.
If you’re really smart, you would have timestamps on your in-game chat and ask multiple times—if ignored, this helps build an even more credible defense. Most people would side with you and hold the raid lead accountable for this, especially if you asked multiple times.
Sometimes it is a new character with mismatched gear, and you do not know exactly what is a real upgrade versus what is not. Having only five seconds to hover over items even with addons to see if it is an upgrade or not is not really enough time.
However, having a general idea is smart, but sometimes there is too many upgrades to remember and keep track of.
Even then, sod is pretty easy…
this is great advice… its click to roll…
Install gargul, it shows you whats being rolled out(still use /roll tho)
He is having issues figuring out I the gear is an upgrade, I think pawn does that no?
I was to busy trolling in raid and missed my chance at the castigator last week. That will teach me not to have fun in raid
just need on everything and decide later
