Gargoyle Uhdk

Can gargoyle be buffed to make it a relevant option in it’s talent row or be made baseline as it is pretty please?

i remember they made it baseline at the start of SL then just completely lied to us all :(((

I would like to use Gargoyle again but I think the only reason it was so good in legion was because of the legendary shoulders having it start out with a 30% damage buff with DT. Also if you had Convergence trinket to reduce it’s CD.
Tho to make it work could try a build with Rune of Hysteria and all the haste you could possibly get and if your lucky PI from a priest. But I would fear it would end up like Balance druids atm. Hardly and dps outside of their 3 min CD.
Think it should be buffed tho. something along the lines of also benefiting from DT and gain an extra 1-2% per wounds burst.

It’s pretty easy to get it to max stacks even without hysteria and I believe it benefits from blight which is similar to being buffed by DT the damage even with these modifiers is just to low to justify a 3m cd / to compete with the two big talent options on the same row.

Devs don’t know what to do so just leave an iconic ability dead I guess :tipping_hand_woman:t2:

Bring back Legion’s Valkyrie.

Ah was not aware it had a max stack. But ya the 3min cd is harsh for what it is when with Army of the Damned gives me an easy 2 AoTD casts during boss fights and brings Apoc down to 45 sec CD with conduits. Also in M+ having AoTD up for almost every boss and a few trash packs is great.

ah sorry to my complaint is mainly for pvp in pve unholy kind of feels like i have God mode enabled

For the Valkyrie, there’s an NPC in home base (Archerus) will change the gargoyle into valkyr for you

Rip baseline

They should just make Aotd baseline . Army is a joke of an 8 minute cd, and the rest of the spec just gets clunky without it.

If they would just replace army with abomination our abilities could do more damage-aotd wouldn’t be mandatory and unholy would actually be good in pvp :woozy_face:

unholy isn’t not good in pvp, its just not as good as other choices because they are still bursting players down faster than we can get setup. abomb still has army’s problem of being cc’able,

i was thinking what could be our answer to convoke or hunt, and if they took necromancers bargain and turned it into a combo point style spell where your target gets a stack of crypt fever per wound, instead of just a single 8%, but up to 32-48% of their total HP over 8 seconds.

I know it isn’t bad in pvp I actually play unholy pvp

I meant to convey that they could actually correctly tune our damage rotation because currently it’s hard to tweak numbers when so much damage is tied up in army of the dead which is pve only

given that army is blocked in arena, a simple %damage buff could also work.

i do agree that abomb and army should be swapped with abomb being the baseline and army being the talent and for the same reasons, but a damage buff could be hotfixed out today without having to worry about the balance ramifications in other game modes.

Imagine Necrotic Plague takes place in Gary with Gary being baseline as promised.

… and Frost gets GA without CDs. I feel like it’d be a win for all Dks.

All the have to do is replace army of the dead with gargoyle. We already have apoc summoning a bunch of ghouls anyways, just make gargoyle a non runic powered big CD like it used to be and toss out army.

All of unholy damage except VP has a negative player damage mod; it doesn’t have anything to do with army because we can’t use army as you point out.

Devs are just way out of touch. Same with frost in pvp.

It does have something to do I think you’re just missing the point. Virulent plague hits for 400 and scourge strike does 2k damage. Why? Because too much power is baked into army. If army of the dead went away they could crank up our abilities by a lot to compensate. This especially hits harder on pvpers who can’t even use army

No, you missed it. The team could actually have our abilities hitting players harder than in pve via the player damage mod aura. They don’t have them at neutral. It could just as easily be plus 30%-70% damage to players from neutral instead of minus 30%-70% as is now.

It has nothing to do with the baseline damage (which can be changed in pvp) or army. Its an out of touch team.

Army isn’t strong enough to justify pve tuning either; the dps drop after army is way too harsh.

a lot of this is because its a 8m cd that resets on bosses, so we are balanced around always having it. back when it was 20m and didn’t reset, we weren’t balanced around it.
