It really didn’t portray the general afterlife at all… just the main four service realms and Hell. We don’t get a real picture of what we generally think of as an afterlife existence that’s not designed for a particular purpose, producing soul carriers in Bastion, Defense of the Aafterlife in Maldraxxus, Rehabilitation of sinners in Revendreth, revival of nature gods in Ardenweald, and disposal of the irrredeemable in the Maw.

There’s no point in asking any questions about the lore. Nobody knows and people would rather derail the thread to talk about something more interesting.
The problem is that people keep asking questions about lore that doesn’t exist, such as details about how Azeroth’s armies are formed, Why Character B did horrific act X, and so on. And Blizzard has a habit of publishing one item and then contradicting it shortly afterwards so many have given up on trying to keep track.
Worse are people who try to bring in real life preconceptions to play game lore to fit their own political, cultural, or theological narratives.
