I normally don’t post on the forums but this change took me completely off guard and is something I really hope gets reverted before the release of Shadowlands. Summon Gargoyle is an iconic ability for unholy deathknights and playing with it baseline in Legion was awesome. In BFA Summon Gargoyle was moved into the talents but removed from the baseline spec. Naturally when I saw that not only was it back to being baseline but the full Dark Arbitor version would be baseline aswell, I got extremely excited and it made me 10x more excited for Shadowlands thinking about how much fun Summon Gargoyle with Dark Arbitor would be to play with ontop of Unholy Frenzy. While this change certainly hasn’t killed my hype for Shadowlands or anything quite so dramatic it is exceptionally disappointing to see this amazing skill put back on the talent tree where it may not see any use throughout the expansion (just like BFA). I love this ability and I really want to use it. I really hope you guys go back on this change even if it is only the basic version that is baseline and Dark Arbitor is still a talent.
I agree, make dks tank and dps in every spec.

If blizzard really wants to go back to every class/specs roots then gargoyle baseline is one of those steps for unholy, nearly if not all unholy DKs chose it in their talent tree in wrath.
I don’t understand who decided to make it a talent again. Literally all the feedback on the beta from the seasoned dks clearly stated otherwise. It was people trying the class for the first time, seeing as it’s a DK themed expansion, who were complaining.
All they had to do was take it off the GCD…
Moronic wannabe DKs are to blame. If Unholy is too hard just play Frost DK, it won’t get any easier.
There is this new phenomena that I am seeing which basically translates to: “Hey, I might enjoy (Insert Class/Spec) if it were reworked into something I can easily play and approve of. I don’t care how much this screws over people who actually play it and play it because they like it. Just make these changes and I’ll consider Alting it. Thanks Blizzard”.
If you don’t like how a spec plays find another one, how hard is this concept?
I don’t see what Gargoyle hurt. Every time I saw some wannabe Unholy DK whine about the amount of GCDs it took to start an encounter I couldn’t help but /cringe.
I’m very upset by this too. People complaining about taking too long to set up should just go play BM. I personally love that it takes thought and building up the right stuff to make a strong powerful go. I use to main feral druid in wrath. Unholy is similar in the sense that it’s a complicated process to get a potential kill or max dps. Where feral had a lot of buffs to maintain and could easily wreck your dps by capping combo points and wasting gcds. Unholy is quite the opposite in setting up, but the end result the same, where they take time to build up their strongest cds line them up and doing so correctly felt rewarding. Only difference is unholy can feel deprived of ruins which made it that much more important to time everything as best as possible. I’m pissed off gargoyle was made into a talent again and didn’t even get changed. If you’re going to make it a talent replace it with all server and make it the Dks only pet, something similar to a locks pet kick only difference is now it’s anyways able to hit stuff in range because he attacks from the sky
