Hey folks!
So I just recently gotten back into WoW, but just learned that my side buttons on my gaming mouse refuses to work now. It worked long ago, but I guess something changed. The weird thing is - the buttons work fine until WoW is launched, and then it stops working completely until a computer restart.
I have a: UtechSmart Venus Gaming Mouse.
Any way to fix this issue, or is it time to get a new mouse?
It’s probably that the path to wow.exe changed in 8.1 and your mouse software isn’t detecting the path and loading your settings.
Wow.exe is now in the World of Warcraft\_retail_
folder. Try pointing the gaming software to that location.
Ooh, thank you! That makes a lot of sense now.
…I guess now I have to figure out how to direct the gaming software. It doesn’t exactly make it easy to find the option so fingers crossed!
EDIT: After some research, I don’t think it’ll let me change anything. So I guess time for a mouse that can work with the new folder lol. Probably?
Are you sure you’re running the most recent update to the mouse software? I believe most of them had to come up with a new version to account for the change in WoW installation.
I’ve uninstalled my old driver and installed a new one from the official website. Sadly it still remains on V1.0 no matter what I download :[ I’ll still try and look if I’m lucky.
Check on the profiles inside the utechsmart driver.
Sorry for the delay!
Unfortunately I cannot find anything about re-configuring to WoW unless I am totally blind. It just gives options to change the Buttons / DPI / Light.
