What can you do on a trial version? And if gametime runs out can you still play a character under level 20? Was curious because I read it somewhere earlier today…
I know they are restricted to certain things how long does the trial last?
Can a trial character be taken over to a account that had recently expired?
Just wondering because my gametime runs out in a couple of days and I get paid bi-weekly and have other things that are more important to take care of. Of anyone can shine some light as to what I can expect with a trial version or what I could possibly do lol rude and mean comments will be ignore so don’t waste your time please this is a genuine question
You can level to 20 and join the 20 twink community of people who are trial only.
This is probably something to ask in General Discussion rather than Classic Discussion, but since you’re here anyway: https://us.battle.net/support/en/article/3226
If you’re asking about WOW Classic (given this is the Classic Discussion forum), we don’t even know if it will be available as a trial.
Assuming you’re asking about the regular trial (Starter Edition or Veteran Account):
There is no time-limit on the trial, just limitations. You can play any character up to level 20. Any characters higher than level 20 become unavailable (you won’t be able to select them to play).
Professions are capped at 100 (or however that works in BFA), and not all the things you can learn can be made.
There’s more, but I’ll link to the Support article in an edit in a moment.
Yes I did mean the regular version ok so cool I can still get my fix! Thanks for the kind responses I appreciate it!
This raises a good question.
Should classic be available to trial accounts up to level 20?
I would say that’s a resounding yes. If you’re still playing at 20 in classic, it’s very hard to give that character up.
I read that if subscription runs out you still play on your account as long as that character isn’t over level 20? Is this true and if so how do I go about it? This is a temporary thing just until I can get gametime in a couple of weeks
I’d say no; gold sellers can use free trial accounts for free advertisement
and as we all(hopefully) know, marketing matters… alot
I actually say this unironically
the less advertisement there is, the less of a problem gold sellers will be; and alot of the problem is the advertisements themselves
You do know trial accounts can’t do much of anything. Chat restrictions, gold cap, no guilds, no trading, etc.
they can spam /say in org and form susanexpress with their corpses in front of the auction house
right click report and does the corpse drop still work?
Yes, this is true. You simply log in like normal, your characters that are over level 20 are “greyed out” so you cannot select them, but any characters that are 20 and under are still available.
This is the reason the alt I’m postin on is locked at level 20 - he is my last Vanilla character from my Vanilla server, and if I ever cancel my sub, I can still play as this character.
And since I am already part of a guild, I can still talk in guild and such, I simply can’t join a new guild as a trial account.
so they’d get banned sooner; that wouldn’t stop them from making another free character
as long as gamon is in org and neutral to the horde, you could still make corpses in front of the AH; dunno about IF
No way. There is a vast difference between 20 of the first levels out of 120, and literally a third of the levels of vanilla’s 60. That is before even considering BG 19 twinks that would literally get to play for free.
