I dunno, I feel like it’s more alive than it’s been in years. More alive since Legion, maybe longer.

I suppose it depends on your definition of dead. I’m sure we’ll never see wrath era subscriber levels ever again, that version of WoW is definitely pushing up daisies, but classic and retail are both something else now that seems to be doing okay.

Rejoice. Now that EU approved MS acquisition of Activision Blizzard, we’ll get WoW on gamepass and millions of players will return as the $14.99 a month fee will be worth it.
Overnight we’ll go from 3.8 million players, up to about 26.5 million active subs.
The future is Microsoft.

Casual guild I’m in has been holding up better than at Shadowlands 9.1. But that was after 8 months of torghast and the maw.
Still hard to get them into M+ and I’m a little worried 10.1 is going to be 7-8 months long and it will start to get sparse again.

But for real MMOs feeling dead lately. Doesn’t matter what game I go to - none feel like 2004. Such is life.
You’re off by about 5 years, the game was dying even in beta.
