I had some fun. I spent a day and some change fishing after I did the dailies. Some 1400 cast s later I got the stuff to go on a few quests in old zones to make a lure. I am now the proud owner of a striped octopus mount! 
It’s worse than that. I can’t craft the 291 armor slot pieces because I am not “allowed” to grind enough rep for the item. There is no player choice. You don’t want to grind, that’s ok. I personally want to get to honored as fast as possible on my blacksmith so I can turn around and do the same thing on my tailor. Last night I was 1836/6000. I guess that it may be possible to hit honored before the raid comes out. But damn, why am I having to get 10 rep at a time. Why did you tie the crafting items to the “crown of wills” quest line? I don’t want to spoil the story so I won’t. Give me one rep for picking flowers, or mining, or skinning and let me work. But don’t tie the required gear to a pattern that you won’t let me get. There is already a huge barrier to entry with oboreal shard cost. Go ahead and math out just how much gold it costs in non farmable reagents to get to a rank 4 pattern.
Exactly! I hate these damn puzzles. And there are hardly any world quests or dailies. This area is boring.

This was their plan from the beginning, they didn’t “fix” anything. They did the same thing in legion and in BFA. You seriously believe what they did to the covenants wasn’t intentional lol…Stop praising them for predatory time sinks.

True. This is the worst area Blizz has ever done. (With the exception of the occulus) I just want to see end content, and will only be doing this area on my main. Too much BS to bother even trying on any of my alts.
If you ever want to know why the game is this way, figure which population is the largest audience. It’s a sound business strategy to make products appealing to their largest customer bases.
And since the game feels like work, then that’s because said players (even if the game is not fun) continue playing and operating as if the game itself is a job.
Never use a product unless you get what you want out of it, and always vote with your wallet.

I’m gonna highly recommend that anyone eagerly wanting to: progress on tower knowledge, vision tech research, and conduit leveling on alts should get an assessment. It’s self imposed masochism to flaunt tolerance of game friction over other players (ego flex) at that point.
Because I don’t go to farm offerings; I have very little use for them. I accumulate them passively as I kill anima conductor objectives for things like mounts and transmog.
If you play the game, the different currencies/rep will come. You never have to “grind” or “farm” anything.

Which requires doing the first 5 story chapters, and that’s it.
Each chapter takes, what, 15 minutes?
That’s barely any content at all. It’s certainly not a “grind”.

I do lol, the most I have on one char is 110. Offerings come in much slower than anima, so if you have all these extra offerings you must have everything by now. Why do you still do the same dailies if you have everything?
I don’t understand why you think people don’t farm for these, the whole point of doing the content is to farm the anima/offerings to get the cosmetics. The farm is the game, that’s all SL has been.
I don’t even bother with the dailies, they take too long.
I get offerings largely from doing rares.
I do the callings by killing the rares, which I already do. It’s free gold. Callings give offerings too if you do them in-covenant. (i.e. Do Bastion calling as Kyrian, etc.)
This all came in with covenant swapping. I play all 4 covenants most days. Do the stuff in each zone as that covenant and a lot of extra rewards get handed out.

I go through spells where I want to grind gold but they are short lived, mostly because all the rewards in SL are bought with other currencies. I kept up with all that for a long time but by the time I got everything from the first cov, mail stuff only, I was burned out.
I could prob stomach doing more if I stuck to one char but I’m an altholic lol.
time gated grind I don’t wanna do player power tied to it to prop up engagement. The campaign quests are some of the cringiest most painful content to do in the game wish I could use wow tokens to skip them.
At least actual mobile devs have the common decency to let you pay to skip their blantant time sinks.
Watching pelagos grind on my character while im being dragged around a zone like a dog on a leash isn’t really that fun or immersive.
So you’re just here to complain about everything. Got it.

No I’m just being honest about watching NPCs do idle animations at each other while i twiddle my thumbs wishing I was doing something fun. The first phase of unlocking the zone while doing the flying mount fight I was just slapping my keyboard with my whole hand because it didn’t matter what I pressed. It’s so trivial and tedious.
You can’t tell me flying isn’t allowed after we just unlocked it for any other reason than to make things more annoying and take longer. MMMM SMELL THE ROSES I MADE MMMM.
If the game was just not designed to intentionally be in the way and make players do things they don’t want to do via player power there’d be a lot less complaining that isn’t a hard concept to understand.
But we can’t have that because people need to prop up engagement metrics to justify resource allocation.
My character is so dumb in the blizzard world it takes multiple weeks for him to figure out how to put a belt on.
The new Blizzsekai’s title is going to be “That Time I reincarnated in a world with no belt loops”
