So everyone with an opinion that doesn’t blindly support blizzard should quit and leave all posting to employees?
True point, you don’t have to play the game to enjoy the content as many streamers have proven.
I don’t believe the original post was too that nature, however I do concede the point
On something completely unrelated to the MMORPG genre. Was anyone else stoked to Jet Set Radio as a nomination for “most desired franchise resurrection”?
Please tell me you all voted for it! Please, please, pretty please!
exactly, ive seen people play it on stream, and enjoyed it
i dont like the way the game is going and the way blizz is seemingly going, so i vote against, the same way i forum post on it
Just because BFA isn’t in the best place currently, does not mean that the nomination is undeserved. This nomination is for the game World of Warcraft(BFA is only included in the title, as that is the current expansion), not just for BFA patch 8.0.1 . WoW is constantly changing and has had many ups and downs, highs and lows, good patches and bad patches throughout its lifespan. Just about everyone here has loved WoW at some point and gotten countless hours of enjoyment from it. Some people still are enjoying it. WoW needs to be judged as the sum of its parts not just from a single point in its 14 year history. If this nomination had come during any of the many more popular patches in Legion, Mop, Wrath, or etc it would have far less people railing against it, and similarly if it had been nominated during Dragon Soul, WoD, or even the 14 month dry spell at the end of Wrath(one of the more popular expansions and one of the most popular raids) etc then it would have gotten tons of negative replys like it is now(plus BFA is far from over a lot of things can change by the .2 or .3 patches).
P.S. Just because you do not get as much enjoyment from the current patch as you did previously, does not mean that you should suddenly hate the game entirely and wish for it to fail so completely that it dies. This type of attitude baffles me. Just take a break from the game, let those who are still enjoying it continue to do so, find another game or hobby for now, and then whenever the game returns to a state that you would enjoy it again, you can come back to it.
I don’t watch CBS.
#FakeNews
I mean, for me, it is the complete opposite. The story is the only thing keeping me going in this game, because the gameplay is so…meh. Normally I’d level alts through battlegrounds, but Blizz brought back twinking, so that isn’t fun either, because very few matches are close anymore, and are entirely one sided. Outside of that, max level everything is so fun, and so much more…vanilla now that we don’t have artifacts. The retiring of artifacts was not done gracefully.
The story does have problems right now, but those problems aren’t that bad for me. I like Anduin’s direction, I don’t like Sylvanas’, but it also feels true to her character what she is doing (mostly). I like Talanji and Bwonsamdi, and Gonk, and Jaina and Katherine though. I give it a solid 7/10 for social video game story.
Its for World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth. Many, including myself, agree this award should not be awarded for the current Warcraft Expansion and it should be given to other MMO’s players are “currently” enjoying or don’t vote, since others probably don’t play other MMOs. Warcraft had many downs than it did ups and one of the major problems players are upset about is the lack of communication. Prime example was the Alpha and Beta Feedback for BFA and before you write, it was just BFA. NO! This has been going on for years. Some players are enjoying the current expansion and many are forcing themselves to enjoy it hoping things will get better. If you want to judge WoW for the sum of its parts then lets go with some issues;
- Lack of Communication
- Abilities players “enjoyed” taken away and put back to create a new experience for players when in fact it created a major disadvantage.
- Imbalanced classes/specs
- Limitation/restrictions on abilities per Class/Spec
- Horrible transmogs leaving Mail wearers upset and maybe some leather wearers due to the lack of detail and creativity put into cloth and sometimes Plate.
- Classes/Specs being unplayable for months until update when in fact Feedback addressed those said issues ahead of release, yet have been ignored. This has happened per expansion.
- Boring and a very lack of creativity to professions that have been dooped down over the expansions.
- Imbalance in PVP leaving most Arenas with Rogues, Warriors, Shamans, Druids, and like two other classes/specs that perform well over others.
- Nerfing classes/specs that are performing well down to those that are under performing without fixing the “real” issue to those classes/specs, and leaving those nerfed classes/specs later needing to be buffed. Happens every expansion.
- Repetitive and boring World Quest many complained about in Legion added into BFA with limited rewards, RNG for loot, bad scaling at a certain item level, or horrible rewards; 10 gold.
- Lack of Character Development.
- Lack of Open World content leaving players engaged only in farming Mythic+/PVP/1 Week Raids/WQs per hour/time gated. Sometimes people will go grab some xmogs or battle pets… and… log out next week to repeat 4-8 hours of weekly content for many.
- RNG. Expansions release like every 2 years with 6 months of raid release leaving players limited and no freedom when it comes to gear. Players spend weeks getting the same gear with horrible stats, 10 gold with bad loot protection, and/or gear they don’t need. Also, Raids are limited once per week, so imagine the grind/luck when getting the gear you “need” Vs “don’t need”. And leaving players behind for loot due to this system and the time between new content.
- Azerite grind when players wrote Feedback regarding the grind for Artifact Power.
- Restricting Legendary transmog saying it will go by lore or whatever when in fact they are able to bend the lore and such of the game for other means.
- Very limited Character Design.
- Copy and Paste race design.
- A large portion of hunter community asked for quivers, nothing stil (Artifact don’t count).
- Many Moonkins asked for new forms, nothing.
- Limitations Over Freedom. Players don’t have Freedom.
- Amazing Ideas brought to Devs with many agreeing to ignored because Dev’s wanted to stick by “their” Philosophy, which we see still not working.
There are more, but we know what it is.
So in conclusion, those who are unhappy with the game now and then should be able to vote how they please due to their reasons on why. BFA was a stepping stone for many Veteran players, those who came into WoW midway or some who are new to WoW. Plus players are taking a break from the game and are playing other games, if you read other posts. What baffles me are players who except these issues and allow them to continue this practice. Actually it feels as though those who don’t speak out on issues are the reasons why WoW is in the state because Devs are listening to them rather then the real problems. Players are passionate and love the game and this is their way of protesting the game the once enjoyed.
Lack of communication during a beta cycle, a rushed expansion launch, broken systems at the start, and poor class design. Why would I vote? I really want wow to succeed, but you guys need to get your act together. None of this “we’ll try to do better with communication next time.” JUST DO IT. Maybe next year I’ll vote, but not this year, you don’t deserve it.
using the same White Knight shilling talking points. if the majority of the players are not having these issues, why has blizzard said they are working on Fixes?
They are not fixing anything ,but they have said they acknowledge there are issues
People will come to a game based on the rating - do you really want new players to come to the game in its current state and be sorry. People have to vote on the game as it is now, not how it might have been 3 expansions ago because there is no indication it will ever get any better.
Actually - if you look at that site - they actually say World of Warcraft - Battle for Azeroth. So if you are voting for the game as a whole you are doing it wrong.
As much as I love World of Warcraft, Ythisens… Battle For Azeroth has really soured my opinion. We need to see some improvements on this game before you’re Gamer’s Choice award material. The game is in a really bad state and we need to see some fixes pronto.
-
The repeated and continual nerfing of all things tanks to the point of needing a healer as a full time babysitter. You took a stressful leadership role and made it more dumbed down, monotonous to play even with truly great tank players not even having a somewhat impressive ability to self sustain.
-
The obvious supremacy of one tank class in all forms of content. On the flip side, 2 tanks that are useless from launch till now.
-
The BFA GCD changes that no one wanted or asked for… And we said we don’t want them, remove them since we gave them a chance for a raid tier. You, Blizz, won’t do that.
-
Shaman. That is all.
-
The inability to make what made WW monk in Legion fantastic, and bring that to BFA. RIP that dead spec now.
-
The fact that you, Blizz, claimed pre-BFA you were doing away with tough gear choices and wanted to “free up gear slots to play how we want to be able to play”… Then you give us 4 entirely restricted “Azerite” gear slots, 3 of which can’t even have secondary stats. So instead of doing what you said you’d do, you gave us Azerite gear, which btw, is confusing, aggravating (always “has a chance”, never actual %s so we can make the choices for ourselves) and easily my least favorite expac gimmick you’ve ever tried.
-
Dumbed down every class with pruning, oversimplified rotations and the GCD.
I can go on forever. I don’t ever want to see a green or blue ask “Well what would you change about the game to make it fun?!” ever again. The list is right here.
I morally cannot and will not do something I inherently disagree with, like voting for BFA unless it’s a “How far you’ve fallen” category in an awards ceremony.
To be frank (nothing against you, Yth), it’s a tad bit more than offensive to even post this on your own game forums during the current state of BFA.
Let that sink in for you, Blizz.
I really wish I could vote for WoW, but with how it’s been in BfA, there’s no way I could vote for it.
In FF, I get:
–Diverse and unique classes that easily stand out from one another, all of which have very interesting mechanics and utility that are completely separate from the rest of the classes.
–A really interesting and unique story that continues through the entire game.
–Instances with really varying and interesting mechanics and fun bosses that continue to amaze in both visual and mechanical aspects.
–A very community-oriented development team that constantly has fan letters and talks about every change that’s being made or every system that’s being added, on top of actively taking in feedback and applying it as soon as possible if necessary.
In WoW, I get:
–A few classes that have some unique utility or gameplay, like Warlock Summon Portals and Demonic Gateway. But most classes now blend together due to this overfixation on “Spec Fantasy” which essentially removed 80-90% of each classes all-spec abilities and gutted almost all unique mechanics and utility from the game. Survival Hunter feels like an Arms Warrior with a pet. Ret Pally feels like an Arms Warrior with actual utility. Etc, etc.
–A decent story that isn’t bad, but essentially resets every expansion, with some expansions retconning various random things on occasion in order to fit that current expansions story. Also the stories of each zone don’t pertain to the total story as a whole barely at all, and each zone has about 60% of them being pure side quests that are completely unengaging and boring.
–Bosses that have some interesting mechanics on occasion, but most of them just end up devolving into “Don’t stand in 1 of 4 different AoE pools”. For example, the running orbs on Ghuun is interesting, but the rest of the fight is mainly just move out with garbage and don’t stand in the garbage orbs.
–A development team that (just from my personal perspective) has given up. The amount of care put in has dropped far down. Class feedback and just general system feedback is given constantly, but it’s always fallen on deaf ears. Spriests have said repeatedly about multiple problems such as Void Form being a terrible mechanic, Void Bolt having the same CD as Mindblast, talents having to be taken to fix said CD problem, VE doing way too much damage and being Shadows only meaningful AoE, DoT’s doing terrible damage, etc. Blizz’s fix was to buff Void Form (the thing people don’t like in general) and buff Dispersion (a good change, but hardly asked for). It feels like they don’t care, and just wanted to put out a change to say they did something.
There’s no way I can vote for WoW in it’s current state, definitely not with FF being as amazing as it is in all aspects. I’ll continue to play WoW, hoping stuff gets better, but I sure as hell will never vote for them as long as the game and the dev team is the way it is.
I certainly don’t agree with either of your lists entirely but I do agree with that last part - it is sort of insulting to be asked to vote for BfA and I don’t actually hate the expansion - it just isn’t anything I would vote as being a ‘favorite’. I have to wonder why he didn’t just post this in a sticky and close it though.
Will you get my vote? Idk it’s all rng.
I’d say they couldnt have expected this response, but really, how could they not have?
Wow, I see a blue post encouraging votes for awards.
Yet… Still have thousands of topics ignored? Are community managers suppose to engage or just police for potty words and rude behavior? Asking legit questions here, do not assume the tone based on typed words. Seriously, what is the role of the Blues on the forums? Clearly do not answer questions unless it is silly, like “what type of cookies do you like best”. Lol.
They want to see what players have to say about BFA.
They didnt use Google, which would have saved this blue some time typing
Blizzard refuses to engage and speak with the players (awful foolish, as we keep them in business). If they proceed like this they will self destruct, all on their own. The biggest empires fall the hardest. Blizzard should (like Rastakan lol) heed the warning in front of them, before it is to late. But, we all can correctly guess that they will not, and if that is the case they will sink faster than boulder in the ocean
Addressing real issues? At Blizzard?
You are asking way to much…
