remove the download limit
gear game setting scroll down to download limit and make them blank.

Saw this as well. I had to pause the download and restart it. Fixed the issue for me.

I’ve tried everything… nothing works. Restart pc, pause, uncap download speed… won’t go over 50 kbps. Servers are messed up.
My download was slow tonight, 1Mbps, which is much below the norm for me. That said, if you’re only getting 50kbps, that to me indicates that there’s some sort of network issues somewhere between the internet and Blizz servers, but I don’t think it’s actually their servers.
Not saying it couldn’t be, but if it was, why would your download be so significantly lower than mine? I usually get 60Mbps and still achieved those speeds for some different updates from the launcher…

That download limit setting hasn’t done bupkis for me in years. I’ve tried with no limit. I’ve tried with a limit of 100000 Mbps. None of it has ever made any difference whatsoever. I always get a download rate of 30Kbps on a 100Mbps connection.
That’s odd. When I was on my 150Mbps connection (previous ISP I had) I would still get 12-16Mbps when downloading updates.
It just goes to show that the internet is HUGE network and that different ISPs, connection types, data centers, hardware along the route, etc., can all play a huge role in our connection speeds to different servers/sites.
Seems fine here.

Pausing and Resuming seems to help sometimes when it slows down. After a few times it usually speeds up.

I’m getting the same issue, internet is fine. Just WoW that’s screwy. Stuck at “initializing” and the download speed is in the Kbps.

Your image literally shows 39 KB/s… Why is it going so slow? Anything under 1 MB/s in 2025 is insanity. I have a gigabit internet plan, my speedtest shows 852 MBps, and just downloaded a 2 GB game on steam in like 42 seconds.

It’s been slow for me. One the middle hops between me and blizzard is chronically bad
