Ever since TWW pre-patch, something has changed with the way the fullscreen game window behaves, and causes the game to launch with a resolution slightly bigger than the screen it inhabits. The result is a blurry game until the resolution is fixed.
See:
I’ve already done a full reinstall of the game, nuked the WTF.config, reset all of my settings, and the issue persists. It has nothing to do with my profile or settings and everything to do with how the client interacts with the desktop space.
People have noted that Nvidia Experience is a factor, but I don’t even have it installed.
In my case, I have three options:
use the Windows+Down Arrow keybind to fix the issue on every game launch
set the video options to DX11 (non ideal)
disable my third-party multi-monitor software (the loss of convenience is unacceptable – and this software hasn’t interfered with WoW for years until TWW pre-patch came around, so it isn’t a root cause)
As noted in another thread, if I switch to another PC and back again via a KVM while WoW is running, the game window will switch to a blurry resolution. It’s all related.
I’d love for this to be fixed or at the very least acknowledged.
I tried a bunch of stuff with KVM but the only option for me is to run into windowed mode. Nothing else works. Also an issue on all other versions of WoW I tried, no issues with other games. Only thing I havent done was roll back nvidia driver but since my issues its updated a few times
This issue still seems to be ongoing… Can be a bit infuriating having to exit/reopen the game and swap between graphic settings to fix it just to try and play the game. Kind of at my wits end with it. I did a full reinstall, etc. Problem still persists.
Not sure if this helps anyone but resolve my issue with KVM. I am using an acer 34p monitor so i changed the ratio from 1:1 to Aspect (may not have fixed the issue), but also disabled the overdrive from extreme to normal/none. I think this is the setting that fixed the issue
