My husband and I have played WoW retail since around 2006, shortly after we got married. We still love this game and play it as often as we can. We have basically spent our entire married lives in WoW, and have zero regrets. We also are loving the latest expansion (Midnight). Aside from the buggy patch release, we feel Midnight has been one of the best expansions we’ve seen in quite a while. Nobody wants to go back to Shadowlands…. just sayin…. Okay, maybe a few strange ones liked the Maw….
We got to thinking about what would make the game even better, and we had a few suggestions or ideas we wanted to share, being veterans of the game. Not everyone will agree with these suggestions and ideas, and that’s ok! These are just our opinions for quality of life changes that would make it even better.
1 - why crafting orders? Why?? In the past, crafting professions could craft great gear and list it on the auction house. You could also buy crafted gear on the auction house. And it worked. Amazingly well. Why fix a system that wasn’t broken? We may be alone in this, but after spending years in the auction house, we are not fans of the crafting orders. It just makes crafting professions feel bad.
2 - Time Walking - why is it limited to certain regions? Why can’t we have the option to run anything time walking? Let’s say we could have an option to choose to run old-school content at low level for transmog, or run it for Time Walking and get gear and drops for current level content. Why does it have to be limited to just a certain region? As more people play the game, it would give you so much more options.
3 - Follower Dungeons - ok, it’s pretty cool, I’ll admit. But you know what would be even better? Scalable dungeons and raids. Let’s say you have 3 friends to run with and you want to run current level content. Now let’s say you can walk into a raid or dungeon at current level, and it automatically scales to the size of your party. Why can’t we do this? If it could be scaled to the party size, it could be just as difficult as end-game content run with a PUG of random players - but a whole lot more fun.
I’m just gonna throw this out there because I know a lot of people are thinking it, but not everyone will say it - there is a very large player base in WoW that are introverts. We’re nerdy gamers. We keep to ourselves. WE don’t WANT to be forced to run with random groups that are insulting or harass us, just to do end-game content. It just feels punishing, for no reason at all. Let us play with who we want to play with - or even solo. That’s what we really want.
