Yep. same problem here. launch app; freezes computer and restarts.

Glad to see I’m not the only one experiencing this. It started happening to me this morning. Windows 10 user here.
As Reji said, you can manually open WoW by running WoW.exe, but if you find your computer in a frozen-reboot-frozen loop, make sure you disable the BNet Launcher from your system tray as soon as you boot up. Then go to Startup Apps in Win10 and disable the Launcher until there’s a fix.

Same here, following for solutions. If I bypass bnet launcher and go through WoW, the same thing happens.
Suddenly my reinstall is working - still an hour or more away from finishing but at least the computer didn’t freeze up. Maybe they did something or maybe the absolute latest driver had something better than the almost absolute latest driver. Which given the problems we all had seems unlikely.

Make sure you don’t run the WoW Launcher. You need to go into the game directory and run the actual executable (e.g. WoW.exe, WoWwhateverClassic.exe, etc.).

how do you reinstall bnet without opening it?
Launcher freeze is instant and totally locks computer.
what have you done blizz?
did my wife pay you to do this?

I uninstalled and reinstalled bnet, still nukes my pc. I think the issue is whatever update wow is trying to do

I unfortunately hope that this update is the cause of my computers demise aswell, I am not crashing but I am overheating to 80 degrees Celsius causing fans to spike to 1600rpm to 4000+ and I am using a 2080ti In a beefy rig. I have never experienced anything like this before as other games run perfectly fine . If anyone is having the same issues please let me know.

Same here. It’s reassuring the problem is apparently widespread… I also tried some of the solutions mentioned here, but nothing worked.
I am also using a 2070 GeForce RTX so my girlfiend’s theory is that this has to do with the Ray-Tracing they’re pushing through with this little update? Or the graphics update in general?
I would suggest NOT reinstalling anything until we get word from Blizz

Also seeing this problem.
Win 10, Intel, RTX 2060.
Opening the launcher, the launcher appears to be loading content then goes unresponsive, then mouse and keyboard go unresponsive. CTRL-ALT-DELETE unresponsive, system has to be reset.
Reinstalling the launcher was ineffective.
my whole computer is working fine. until i open up battle.net and then my system freezes, what happened to the launcher in this past hour?
