Game seems to freeze then reload all rendered assets in item menus

Still facing this. I found out if you check your Windows Error Logs, there’s a unique Nvidia hardware crash report under “Windows” every time this happens. Great.

Hah yea I got my hopes up after hours of no crashing then… splat minutes after I posted lol

Blizzard doesn’t care and those that worship blizzard think they know better.

Experiencing same issue since the latest patch.

Posted on a similar thread, but also experiencing this issue. Swapping back to DX11 or switching to “choose card” rather than auto detect does not, unfortunately, solve it. It’s pretty awful.

It’s been happening for me too. It can happen randomly, but it ALWAYS happens for me if I open my warband collection tab OR click on a transmogrifier.

Just checked it after the hotfix and it’s still happening when I open the transmog menu

Mine is mucked up too… in 11.1 i was getting strange issues with resolution changing (similar to this post: https://us.forums.blizzard.com/en/wow/t/game-freezing-in-raid-and-m-since-111/2075510/190)

Now, in 11.1.7, i’m getting a new issue - randomly, the video freezes, then all of a sudden the screen textures get weird (see this image: https://imgur.com/a/Allh2ls) – some textures turn solid green. Cast bars turn green also, with a sliding green box when casting. It’s very strange…

A ‘/console reloadui’ fixes it, but it keeps happening over and over, and not just when loading into a different area, this just happens randomly while i’m playing - open world, delves, etc.

Windows 11 24H2 of course, like many of the other problems.

Video is ‘nVidia GeForce GTX 1660 SUPER’

  • After upgrading from Win10 to Win11, I upgraded the nVidia driver to the one from early June
  • After continual issues (this was 11.1) i rolled back to the version i had when i was running Win10 (522.25)

Nothing but constant video problems since 11.1 (and upgrading to Win11), makes me want to quit for a while…

I noticed this bug too. I have the same problem.

Another player here who’s been having this issue and only since the June 17th patch. Game was fine for months and months. Now it crashes/reloads like the OP’s video, but seemingly at random for me. Quest completion, dungeons, delves…even flying all does it…or just turning my Monk around. Dropping all my graphics to the lowest possible settings helps, but then it’s like I’m playing in 2004 again :frowning:

Wonder if thats whats causing the latency issues?

Its like every patch something gets broke. For once can we just get a patch with no issues?? Is that 2 much 2 ask for?

happens every time I open the appearance tab

actually scratch that it happens every 10 seconds while the appearance tab is open.

I am also having this issue, 3-4 times a day the game freezes then reloads the ui/screen. Happens several time a day.

I’m seeing multiple threads about this right now and it’s disappointing that Blizz hasn’t addressed it. It’s impacting a lot of people.

Truly disapointing not even a “we’re looking into it”. It started with the patch its on blizzards end, not ours

been having the same issue, in my case dissabling some addons helped, doesnt happen that often, but still happens from time to time, though not that bad.

hopefully we get a full fix

What seems to have at least temporarily solved the issue for me was to scroll all the way to the bottom of the Graphics settings and turn off everything except Multithreaded Rendering.

Still on DirectX12, graphics card is selected and not set to Auto-Detect.

Something that’s worked for me and some others is to disable MPO (multiplane overlay) using a registry edit command, which Nvidia themselves have provided an easy enable/disable command to download as it frequently becomes an issue after windows updates.

EDIT: Okay, nevermind. I managed to go a few days without the error happening after this “fix” but it just happened again.

I’m not sure if it’s just a coincidence but it always seem to happen while I’m clicking and dragging the mouse, either to turn the camera or move items in my inventory.

same problem here
