With the rumors being that the game is maybe not necessarily stopped development but productivity being really bad due to the situation, along with the BIG delay 9.1 had… Do you guys think the game is going to be effectively dead for the foreseeable future?
Obviously this isn’t the most important thing, but if this is the case then honestly i don’t think people should keep subbing anymore. FF14 has a new expansion on the horizon meanwhile WoW might have such a big problem they wont have any content likely for a long time.

World of Warcraft earns billions in revenue, why would they ever stop making content? ATVI stock is still near its all-time high. This whole thing will blow over just like all the others.

I don’t mean they have cancelled but rather that with the current situation the delays will be even worse
It’s sort of hard to tell right now how it’s all going to play out. The worst part is having an employee say the customers are a part of the problem for wanting content to continue. Lol that right there makes me believe that they are indeed already behind.

I understand that the situation takes priority, but if that’s the case i don’t think its fair to ask players to stay subbed if nothing is coming soon when there is so much competition right now on the mmo space.

Check it right now. It’s already down 7% in the first 30 minutes.
Yeah if you zoom to show the last 10-15 years or so, you can see it’s still near an all-time high though. It’ll be interesting to see what happens to it over the course of the week.
I didn’t think it was going to be overflowing with content for the foreseeable future before the scandal, so, in that respect, nothing has changed. The new campaign content ends in a couple of weeks, then it’s just going to be building up covenant levels for months.
It will take more then a week though. It will be a bleed over time. The real test will be in a few months. Many are already talking about FF and a new expansion will drop then their is new world if that can fix its issues. Right now even if the game is in limbo and it shows no sign of stopping if other games can offer content the players will begin to bounce especially since streamers and content creators are jumping ship.
Yes, patch 9.1 will last as long as 9.0 at least.
If you aren’t enjoying it now, or stop enjoying, just unsub for time being, it isn’t going to get magically fixed or updated.
You’ll see beta post on wowhead 2-3 months before 9.2.
I’m extremely casual and just starting torghast stuff. So this slow time we have during development doesn’t bother me at all.
People just complaining to complain. That’s about what these forums are all about.

Yeah, true. On the next investor call we’ll see how all these new games, expansions and lawsuit drama have affected revenue. My guess is that it won’t be too different.
Love how rumors get all the hype. Kind of reminds me of the times of witch hunting. You know…such and such said this person is a witch so let’s kill them. So a lot of innocent people died.

That highly depends on the level of the content. FF is the top contender to take WoWs top spot because it delivers consistent and solid content. If they can score a home run so to speak with this coming expansion while blizzard is in limbo that could be a massive problem.
Especially if the WoW streamers that are dropping like flies start singing its praises without being prompted. Those content creators as much as people don’t like to admit it matter.
It was a blizzard dev, its not like this is from a random twitter account.

Yeah, but over the past 15 years I’ve seen hundreds of people prognosticating Blizzard’s demise, but every year their revenue just goes up and up.
Honestly, I’m running on RaF time, but I’d probably unsub if WoW is going to be in maintenance mode for awhile. If we pay for a service, that service should be honored.
So…one Blizz dev…omg the sky is falling. And so what if development is stopped? Maybe they could take the time to sort out the lawsuit mess and all.
