Game Mode with Neutral (yellow nameplate) Mobs

Hello, I prefer neutral mobs to hostile ones.

Please make more neutral mobs and less hostile ones. If this could be a toggle somewhere, or some feature with Chromie time, that would be so cool.

Somewhat like Minecraft’s “creative” mode, you can just run around and explore. It would be cool if you let this work in dungeons too, so people could RP/explore in there.

My plan for the mode:
Search all (“not alliance” and “not horde” and “hostile to players of alliance and horde”) or (“not horde” and “hostile to alliance”) or (“not alliance” and “hostile to horde”)
Select all creatures of those factions
If player has “Explorer” aura,
Change mob faction to “neutral to alliance and horde”

Feature in Chromie time:

Add dialogue box if no Explorer aura “I’d like a more peaceful vision of the past”
If clicked → add “Explorer” aura
Add dialogue box if Explorer aura “I’d like my enemies to be hostile again”
If clicked → unaura “Explorer”

That’s it! Very quick to implement.

The name “Explorer” would need something better, maybe “Peaceful” or something along that line.

Then…stay in Elwynn Forest.

Many mobs in Elwynn Forest are hostile. And it contains less than 1% of the game maps’ area, so, no.

there’s a reason the game stops having so many neutral mobs after level 5. its because your supposed to figure out how to deal with hostile ones.

It’s likely not gonna happen. The world is a hostile place. Lotsa sharp pointy things

Too bad. This is a fantasy, swords n’ sorcery MMO.

We’re not playing Happy-Scrappy-Bunnytime at candyland-dot-com here…

I agree, but Chromie time is different! It’s up to Chromie how the users see the past, hence the section about “I’d like a more peaceful vision of the past”

And Chromie’s sorcery is way better than your sword :woman_shrugging:

As my pappy would say “The only peace you’ll ever get is in the grave”.

Maggots will be eating my eyeballs, and my organs will be rotting from the inside out. I respect the phrase but I don’t think it will be peaceful there either LOL

And you won’t care or feel anything, as you are dead. Bereft of life. Pining for the Fjords, an ex-gnome.

Dead is Dead, unless you are forsaken, they have their own problems.

Explorer mode would have to have special rules, and when you enter an instance in said mode you can not turn if off until you leave. Also you wouldn’t be able to loot anything and it wouldn’t could towards any quest progress or achievements.

Agreed with all of this.

Why not find a whole new game instead of wanting to change this game to a whole new game?

You shouldn’t have an issue dealing with any of the mobs in the world, they are already pretty worthless, easy to cc and kill.

Yep.

Of course, this should be a given. You’re only enable to enable and disable this with Chromie.

They already have this. It’s called, “Level 60.”

Then you can go anywhere in the world outside of Shadowlands* with an aggro radius so small, you practically have to step on mobs to get them to attack you. And if they do, you can press a button–any button will do–and have them deleted from the game, with a chance at some loot thrown in as an extra bonus!

*NOT Legion Mythic raids. Sorry.

as long as no resources can be gathered, no xp gain, no quests, pet battles, no achievements earned, etc… I see no harm in putting in an RP toggle.

it’ll never happen (or, I’d be super surprised if it did), but it wouldn’t hurt anyone.

Elwynn doesn’t have Neutral mobs. LOL

Some people have brought up exploration mode before, where you can’t do any quests or get loot or anything like that.

So hangout with training dummies

That doesn’t even mean anything, little dude.

What you’re asking for is basically like Passive Mode in GTA Online, which makes sense in a pure pvp setting, if people just wanna get some casual stuff done without getting wasted.

But you want safety from NPCs. That’s just weird.

Also;

The majority of experience-granting mobs in Elwynn Forest are hostile.

I meant, stay in the starter zone of Elwynn. :sunglasses:
