Game making

So for the last, im gonna say 6 years, I've been developing a game on paper, it's as clear in my mind as if it already exists.

I know the story, I know the gameplay mechanics, what the map looks like, I know the characters, I know how fights play out, I've checked for patents on it to see if there's anything remotely similar or if names have been taken

I have dedication to my project, my real hurdle is getting it made, and getting it made in such a way that it's available to an audience who will try it

so far I have not seen an engine that can replicate it, I have very little experience modeling so the chances of me getting those done even if I find a workable engine is low, but I've seen other games use features that would have been in it and the hunger for those features is real

I'm looking for advice on how to build my own engine, and how to get my game out there so people can enjoy it, there's only so much research I can do with limited time
Well i can not offer much engine wise but im pretty sure steam could help with distribution.
Look into Unity.
If you can't code proficiently I don't recommend trying to build your own engine. You can do a lot of things with Unreal Engine.

Yep. Why re-invent the wheel?
