Game Keeps Crashing

Keep getting an error while playing WoW, “Memory Could not be Read”

For assistance in this forum, you’ll need to provide system diagnostic files for other players to help you. Follow the instructions from the Blizzard support doc here:

https://us.battle.net/support/en/article/12988

After you have the reports:

  • Upload each one separately to Pastebin.com.
  • Paste the links in your reply.

Note: If you have trouble posting URLs, highlight each link and click </> on the post editor toolbar.

While you wait for assistance, review the Windows Reliability Monitor (Win10) or Reliability History (Win11), which may show you what’s happening in the background to cause any errors.

I recommend adding the MSInfo since the DxDiag just has a few low memory errors, says you need to update Windows, and that’s about it.

Had to split my Msinfo was to big

Looks like a large portion of the report is still missing. Could you upload the txt file to Google Drive? I see several apps that have caused problems in the past, like Easy Tune and Citrix, but it would be better if I could see the whole report.

In the meantime, you should disable everything you can in your Startup processes to test if it’s one of those apps.

If you turn off the overlays does the problem persist? I’ll look over the rest of the file in a bit.

Did any troubleshooting take place before this thread? I’m seeing an old GPU driver, which should be first on the list of things to update to resolve a gaming problem.

Driver Date/Size: 1/17/2024 7:00:00 PM, 785152 bytes

I mentioned this:

From the report:

[Startup Programs]
OneDrive “c:\users\antho\appdata\local\microsoft\onedrive\onedrive.exe”
Discord “c:\users\antho\appdata\local\discord\update.exe”
Steam “c:\program files (x86)\steam\steam.exe”
ProtonVPN c:\program files\proton\vpn\protonvpn.launcher.exe

None of the above apps are necessary to run WoW, so disabling them for testing should not cause any issues.

Most of the errors related to WoW are showing the RADAR (Resource Exhaustion Detection and Resolution) code. This code usually shows up when you’re running out of RAM or pagefile space. It’s not usually the cause for a crash, but it could be. And I see over the course of the last few months, the system presented with some Blue Screen codes related to RAM.

hmm is there a way to test the ram?

Sort of. You can run Memtest86+, but sometimes it will miss corrupted sectors.

I ran the windows memory test and it came back good.

Ok, but I mentioned more than the memory issues. Did you perform any steps to address the rest?

it was the graphics card!!
